As a homemaker for almost 7 years, it has been our primary role to take care of the family. As for me, I do all the house work for I don’t have any house help to rely on. I have been used to being the one managing everything in our house.

And one of those tasks is being responsible for preparing and cooking our meals. I have been doing all these for quite some time so I can say that it has been “easy-peasy”. But of course we should also make note of if the food or ingredients that we use our fresh, safe and properly stored.

Last January 21, 2012, I was among the other food bloggers luckily invited to the grand launch of SUMOSAM Gilmore . Being a newbie when it comes to food blogging, this has been one of the great experiences I am proud to have been part of.

Before the launch, I even research a bit about Sumosam. For most of us who are always attuned to to the food and restaurant scene, we all know that Marvin Agustin is one of the owners of SUMOSAM. With this particular fact, I am so excited because it has been one of my "dreams' to meet him in person and ask him a few questions about his success as a restaurateur.

But before anything else, let me start by sharing with you that SUMOSAM GTC is the first "Franchise-own" branch of SUMOSAM. This is owned by Ms.Angel Pelayo-Ty.

When visiting a place or restaurant I always check if they have nice interiors. In SUMOSAM, there are comfortable couches where you can sit with friends or family. It has warm lighting that can also mean you can eat your bento at peace. No offense meant, but there are restos which have guests that are too noisy, feeling that they are the only ones inside the resto. The feel inside the resto, most especially with the very accommodating staff that they have is that you are a v.i.p guest.

At Home at last.....

Just came home from 3 events I have gone to. First is The Nuvo Hair Bloggers event, 2nd is the Soyami "Snacking Without The Guilt" Event and lastly is The Epic launch of Flippish.Com at 7th High at The Fort.

Though I admit I got tired but it was worth it. I even got to party a bit at 7th High with Blogger friends.

It's past 12 am and I promise to post about these events here in my blog. So keep posted guys!

My CACTUS HEART: A PRE VALENTINE MOVIE Thorny yet with a SWEET ENDING

I was invite to The My Cactus Heart Blogger Conference last January 21 at Max' Fried Chicken in Morato. The call time is a bit early but I made sure I slept early the previous night. I am Maja Salvador fan ever since and I was so excited to meet her.

Blogger friends also unusually arrived earlier. Maybe they are also excited just like me. I am happy for Maja since in her latest film she's paired with her real-life boyfriend Matteo Guidicelli.

My Cactus Heart is top-billed by the country's exciting stars Matteo Guidicelli, Xian Lim and Maja Salvador. The story is about a girl  named Sandy  who came came from a not-so-perfect family. Sandy here does not believe in love. She is know to be a chronic "mambabasted" here in the story. But suddenly as the sory goes on she meets Karlo but decided in the middle that she should hold her grip because she is falling eventually!

I've seen a lot of Maja flicks. And she's great actress, may it be comedy, romance, drama and horror. And for the year 2012, expect a lot from Maja., like "LUMAYO KA MAN SA AKIN". As for Matteo, this would be his first starring role and seein him from his past stints I can say that he improving his craft. While with Xian in this movie, he will eventually add clamor because of his successfull stint at "My Binondo Girl".

Direk Enrico was so generous to the bloggers when he readily shared everything about the movie. He  said that it's not  hard to direct a movie with the couple ( maja and matteo) because on screen and off-screen they are being themselves.

February, the love month is still a few months away but it would be a nice idea to watch MY CACTUS HEART to feel and spread that LOVE is genuinely what makes the world go round!

Well just like everybody else, I'm excited to know who ends winning MAJA's heart in the story, Catch MY CACTUS HEART at 100 theaters, one of STAR CINEMA'S offering for 2012, on January 25,2012!

CITY HUNTER: Lee Min Ho's Newest Korean Drama

ABS-CBN kicks off the year of the Dragon withy the much- awaited and biggest Korean drama “City Hunter “ premiering this Monday (Jan.23) in Primetime Bida.

I am so excited with this new offering because not all of my friends new that I’m “Koreanovela” addict. I always make sure to watch them whenever I have time at home. 

And this time after his biggest hit “Boys Over Flowers” Lee Min Ho, Asian’s Superstar will lead this overly-budgeted Korean hit series, CITY HUNTER.

Lee Min Ho has a big following here in the Philippines. And I was not surprised because I was able to see that last Friday at the City Hunter Advance Screening at The Dolphy Theatre.

The theater was packed and alot of Lee Min Ho's fans was there to support it!

 You can even some of the fans with the replica masks that Lee Min Ho used for this Korean Drama.

Park Min-Young is Lee Min Ho's leading lady here and also rumored as his Girl friend.

In the series, Min Ho plays the role of johnny Lee, a charming and smart young man who works at the Presidential residence called the BLUE HOUSE. Little did everyone know that behind his massive appeal to women, intelligence and pleasing personality lies a son trained to kill and seek revenge for his father. His mission is to make 5 politicians responsible for killing his father pay with their own lives.

Despite being skilled assassin, the task wouldn't be that easy for Johnny because he has to follow three rules on his mission ----he can't trust anyone, he can't reveal his true identity and he can't fall in love with Na Na, he must also choose which path to take . Will he choose duty or love ? We will soon find out as we watch it every night, right after Pinoy Big Brother on January 23 in the undisputed Primetime Bida!

Recently I was planning to join a fud tour in Binondo just in time for The Chinese New Year celebration. But I don’t know if it is what you call “perfect timing” because I was invited to join The Chinese STREET-STYLE Food Tour at SM NORTH EDSA located at 3 SKY GARDEN covered areas. For me all the food stalls looked plain but I was proved wrong. Believe me, you have to taste all of them to tell if I’m saying the truth.

Our First stop was CHICKEN DELI

Chicken Deli first took Bacolod by storm before opening a branch here in Metro Manila.

I tried their HONGKONG STYLE NOODLES, and I am impressed with the taste . The taste is authentic! I have tasted other HongKong Style noodles kiosks before but this one did really made a homerun with my taste buds. The prices for noodles starts with Php25 for the plain , with sharksfin is Php40 and with 2pcs.siomai Php35. They also offer shabu-shabu. I didn’t get to try it but will do on my next visit.They are bit higher in price but it is sure the worth the taste! They are selling goodluck garlands (or I don’t know what they truly call them) for Php150. Good job Little Fellas!

Here at RED BASKET , they have a lot to offer for dimsum lovers! You would never run of things to try out. And they do have nice and courteous staff too!

Our last stop, SIOMAI HOUSE

SIOMAI HOUSE never fails to amaze me with their Gulaman. I personally love their gulaman above any other food stalls.

Don't forget to visit these stalls these CHINESE NEW YEAR. It will save you lot of time and money if you chose to visit SM NORTH EDSA this Chinese New Year! They always make sure that they have a lot to offer to their shopping and dining customers, that's why SM NORTH EDSA is always on my list of malls that I love.


The Chinese Street Style Food Festival is on its roll last Jan.17 and until Janury 23, 2012 at the SM NORTH EDSA SKY GARDEN Covered areas!

Everybody from the cast is so excited because its cast is compose of young and seasoned actors like Allan Paule, Diane Paule, Alex Castro, Sylvia Sanchez, Ms. Tessie Tomas, Ejay Falcon, etc.

This time I can say that I can relate more in the story because I am already a mom myself. I am seeing this new drama series as an eye opener of what a mother (like what Eula Valdez here is portraying here) can and will do for her kids if she is pushed to her limits.

-daughter of Eula Valdez but was later on left under the care of Leilani (Sylvia Sanchez)

Jennifer (Nikki Gil)

-daughter of Eula Valdez also, who grew up under her grandmother’s care Donya Alicia La Pena.

OLIVIA (Eula Valdez)

-mother of Jennifer and Sheryl, was in jail for almost 20 years for allegedly killing his husband Carlos, son of Dona Alicia La Pena.

The members of the cast was asked during the Q&A, “Anu ang Ikagugunaw ng Mundo Nyo” . I think all their unanimously says that the loss of their family or a family member will be what will destroy their existence. I think everyone will agree that our families are what defines our existence her in this world. So matter what happens our families are still what tops our priorities.

And honestly lately, I have been neglecting my family and depriving them more of my time. I know I have been silent with fact that I am truly sorry about that and I told myself that I make sure to plan more bonding time to make it up for my absences in the house.

And that bonding time will truly be a part of our tv viewing especially the Kapamilya Gold timeslot of MUNDO Man ay MAGUNAW.

Net25 First and Newest Teleserye "5 Girls and a Dad" to conquer TV Viewing on January 23, 2012

Last January 16, 2012, Television Network Net 25 of Eagle Broadcasting Corporation had its presscon for its first-ever teleserye , “5 Girls and A Dad”.

It was one of dream come true when I got the chance to be among the guests of this launched because I am so proud to tell you that the writer for this teleserye is none other than, the multi awarded writer Ms. Lualhati Bautista. I am more than proud to have the chance to have met and tell her that me and my husband collects all the books she had written.

Stand-Out Dishes from Junior Master Chefs Philippines Now Served at Pancake House

Time must really flies so fast. It was just a few months ago since JUNIOR MASTERCHEFS had first aired at Top t.v. Station, ABS-CBN.  Being a fan of cooking shows and a foodie newbie, I started to add Junior MasterChefs to my list of my favorite shows. It has been my favorite because it brings smile on my face whenever I see the kiddie cooks face each cooking challenge. It was amazing to see these kids (which some of them are near my son’s age, btw my eldest son is already 7 years old.) cook like a pro! It is one of those shows close to my heart because it was a family favorite. My kids watch it with me all the time. I guess the foodie in us runs in the blood.

And now with only eight of them left in the competition, kiddie cooks are showing what cuisine they excel at. But it is no doubt that all of the remaining participants have what it takes to vie for the Ultimate title of “Junior MasterChef” Philippines.

And proof to this is some of their masterpiece dishes are now being served at the country’s most trusted restaurants, PANCAKE HOUSE.

And to have a taste of these “masterpiece” dishes, I had been invited by Junior Masterchef Philippines and Pancake House last January 11, 2012 at Pancake House Trinoma. 

 This is Chef Adrian Azurin, the Senior Product Development at Pancake House.

He was asked during the Q&A if who's the kiddie cook who resembles his cooking style. He said it  was Miko.

I was thrilled and excited to meet the kiddie cooks . And the kiddie cooks present are Caitlin Taluban, Kyle, Jobim, and Miko.  And it was a privilege to meet also the Chef for the R&D Dept. of Pancake house who was so proud to introduce to us the the dishes that these kids had made.
