PAREF WOODROSE students gets their "REAL" dose of fun at CAMP TRAILBLAZER

Learning is very essential to all parents. Any parent would agree with me that giving your kids the best education is quite a big investment. As what I’ve been brought up by my parents, they always inculcate in our minds that education is the only gift they could leave us behind. And now that I am a parent myself, I also want to instill that with my kids.

My parents are not the typical ones. They work hard to send me to the best school possible. During elementary, I was supposed to study in an exclusive all-girls school but since I wasn’t 7 years old then (which they require kids to enter elementary if they are already 7 years old), my parents sent me to another private school. For me I was very thankful to them for having sent me to that school because even though the school is very expensive at that time they worked hard so that I could finish school.

This weekend I visited a school’s outside activity. This school is PAREF WOODROSE.
PAREF WOODROSE was established in 1977 by the PARENTS for EDUCATION FOUNDATION (PAREF), which is a group of parents who wanted to be fully involved in providing  an integral education for their children.

PAREF WOODROSE is an exclusive school for girls. The school values GOOD CHARCTER as the key on attaining success in one’s studies and personal life. It is unique because its “Tutors” or mentors (mentoring) also act as personal life coaches and mentors their students in academic and personal excellence.

This is an i.d. of a junior counselor from Camp Trailblazer. And printed at the back is their daily schedule.

PAREF WOODROSE sent the girls to CAMP TRAILBLAZERS. Since school is out for the summer break, PAREF WOODROSE students were sent to CAMP TRAILBLAZERS. This camp started 3 years ago and the camp’s main cliches' is to have meaningful experience through leadership seminars held inside the camp, help the girls gain self-confidence, discovery of their selves, and a means to interact with other people. The camp also teaches mentoring in which the junior counselors here are once students first from PAREF WOODROSE . And what keeps them apart from other schools is that they mentor the girls through "one-on-one" system.

When we visited the CAMP TRAILBLAZER held at CAMP ALLEN in San Pablo, Laguna, it was their fifth day. We arrived around 9am and the activity for that day is in full swing already.
The Camp TrailBlazers is compose of counselors, ollder campers and younger campers. The campers here are those who are incoming Grade 6 students to incoming 2nd year students.

And the kids from Paref Woodrose also learned this Camp Code.

Camp Trailblazers has 3F’s as their philosophy while in the camp. The 3 F’s stands for Faith, Friends and Fun. The camp’s population for this year is 120 campers and 60% are from PAREF WOODROSE.
Through my observation the girls had fun in the camp since they are the ones who choose which activities they would like to join. I’m sure the girls had a hard time to choose among the many activities that they can do at CAMP TRAILBLAZER. Below are some of the activities the girls can sign up to:

SPORTS
  • VOLLEY BALL
  • RUNNING/Brisk-walk
  • Indoor Games
  • Palarong Pinoy
  • Swimming
  • Dodge Ball
  • Frisbee
  • High Ropes
The girls from Paref Woodrose also learned to do bead-making aside from the many values they all learn from the other activities that Camp Trailblazer is incorporating with the core
values (like the 4 F's I've mentioned a while ago).

THEATER/Arts and Crafts and etc
  • Singing/Dancing
  • Jewelry-making
  • Photography
  • Guitar
  • Creative Writing
  • Snack Preparation
Music is also one of the many activities that the girls can learn from CAMP TRAILBLAZER.
This group of girls are practicing for their group performance for their last night of stay at the camp. More photos about how worthwhile and engaging its is to be in CAMP TRAILBLAZER here.

And that is just some of the many things they can do while on camp. Yes! They do have bonfire nights while singing camp fire songs too and AMAZING RACE. Hearing these makes me wish I was the same age as they were. PAREF WOODROSE sure knows how to cool-up the summer heat by having their students register for CAMP TRAIL BLAZER.
The camp is sure full of activities that I’m sure they’re always up on their feet. And from the looks of it they’ll have a lot of things to share about their experiences when they’re back at the comforts of their homes. How do they enroll in CAMP TRAIL BLAZERS? Parents just have to call the CAMP DIRECTRESS office. And good thing here is the fee for the 6-day camp at CAMP TRAIL BLAZERS is only Php7,000. That is a lot cheaper considering that girls had 6 full days at camp and their stay proved to be worthwhile with everything they have learned physically, spiritually, socially and emotionally.

Oh! I got kind of excited too as I observed the girls because they are fortunate to have been exposed to this kind of interaction and experience. Unlike me, we don't have those kind of camping activities way back in high school.

Parents will be comforted to know that their kids are doing just fine even they won’t be able to communicate with them because the CAMP has its own FACEBOOK page where the parents can browse pictures of the activities were uploaded. How cool is that, right!

If ever I’ll have a daughter I would like her to experience the same experience as what the girls have experienced at CAMP TRAILBLAZERS. It does not only teach discipline but also femininity and how to be of service to other people.

And if you think your "princess or daughter" deserves a school that is at par with your expectations, here are the steps on how to apply her for ADMISSIONS at PAREF WOODROSE:

The Admission Procedure

I'm not wishing to have a daughter now (lol, my hands are already full because of my boys...)  but if God will allow and will be blessed with a daughter of my own , I would like her to experience the  kind of education that PAREF WOODROSE is offering. Now that they are the first and foremost "school" that offers a curriculum with "mentoring" as an addition, I think it will all be worth our money and efforts to send our "precious" one, with a school like PAREF WOODROSE.

  2. This is something new to me. I have no kids yet, but will consider this once I got kids of my own. Will also share this to my family in case they will be interested. That 6 full day stay in the camp is worth every penny of the parents. I'm sure PAREF will go a long way!

  10. This is a good place for students to enjoy this summer and with the activities and daily schedule on their ID, I believe that they will learn to observe disciplinary actions.
