SM HYPERMARKET BATANGAS: Partners with Batanguenos with a BULALO FEST!

Just as promised on my recent post about the Sisig fest I have witnessed in SM HYPERMARKET PAMPANGA, Today I will be sharing the fun and "yummlicious" BULALO FEST I have ever seen at my next SM HYPERMARKET-hopping.

The most varied BULALO FEST I have ever seen happened at SM HYPERMARKET BATANGAS. I  don't know but I have a feeling that this is gonna be different since Batangas is known for colorful and delicious festivities. So I am sure this will be a success.

On a Friday afternoon, I was worrying that it might rain. But SM HYPERMARKET BATANGAS is prepared for this big event. And even the participants too! Check my photos of !the festivities, it might made you think of cooking your BULALO recipe dish.

Batangas being known as province where the seemingly hot bowls of BULALOS are cooked and served. Upon my obesrvation during that exciting afternoon , it will be a tough one for the Judges.

Just a look on all these BULALO entries makes me wanna "OMG Pls. tell me , Am I dreamin?"

I have personally visited each participants as they prepared their winning  "BULALO" dish. And I must say If only I could declare them all winners, WHY NOT?

But only 2 participants must emerged winners for The BEST TASTING BULALO DISH and the MOST NUMBER OF BOWLS MADE , each winner from the 2 category will win Php25,000 worth of SM GC's and Gift packs from SM HYPERMARKET BATANGAS.

Wait that was so generous of SM HYPERMARKET because the participants only have to purchase Php500 worth of items at SM HYPERMARKET BATANGAS and they will get to win that big amount. Hey , why I wasn't informed about it earlier? But no worries dear foodie enthusiasts because I'm sure next year there will be bigger prizes up for grabs!

Again congratulations to all the winners! Now I am still full of Pinoy pride because the folks from Batangas prove to all of us that they are thw champions when it comes to BULALO!

SM HYPERMARKET PAMPANGA: Oozing with Sisig Goodness!

Sisig has been in the Filipino food fare for quite sometime! And whenever there's sisig in the table I can't help but dig in. Sisig is so famous may it be as an "ulam" and or for "pica-pica".

So when the opportunity for me to visit SM HYPERMARKET MABALACAT PAMPANGA , I could not say no! Of course to be there and witness SM HYPERMARKET'S first ever SUPERSIZED COOK-OFF in an attempt to taste the best tasting recipe dish for their "SISIG".

The cook-off is one of the 3 part program-activity of SM HYPERMARKET MASTER CHEFS which began in July 2011. The two other events were a cooking marathon (which I consistently participated because I love learning new recipes) and the kitchen makeovers.

SM HYPERMARKET Mabalacat will be giving away Php25,000 worth of gc's each to the Best Tasting Sisig Recipe dish and to the group who could serve the most no. of plates served on this momentous occassion.

After the groups had rendered their respective group cheer, the participants started to prepare their "sisig" dish.

All in their high spirits as the contest and festivities has started. The participants are prepping their "SISIGS"

I was so overwhelmed with the number of sisig feasting before my very eyes! All in all there were 16 participating teams and I had a pretty hard time focusing on my camera because they all taste and look good !

The Great Dole Cook-off Event @MIHCA!

My bad! This was a late post , though its still worth sharing , thus they say "Better late than never"! I had great time with my fellow Bloggers and foodies as well when I get to attend the "The Great Dole Cook-Off Event"! Though it was  a rainy night and the venue is at MAGSAYSAY INSTITUTE OF HOSPITALITY and CULINARY ARTS and the weather is a bit rainy, it didn't dampened my spirits and be a spectator among the bloggers who will battle each other through a cook-off.

The event was hosted by Chef Jeremy Favia. Chef Jeremy is one of the rising young chefs in television today. He is a product of University of Sto. Tomas (HRM Dept.) and finished culinary school at the International School for Culinary Arts and Hotel Management .

For Starters, Chef Jeremy taught us how to cook Cherry Toamto and Eggplant Ragu Penne and Red Gazpacho which are both good for the health buffs out there.

This dish made it more tastier with feta cheese. Yummy! I will definitely try to make one at home. This as the dish that bloggers tried to do make for the cook-off. It was great experience especially for those bloggers who were able to try and actually cook the dish. The lucky winner went home with cash prizes.

The dishes prepared made it more yummier and healthier with use of Dole Tomato Sauce .

Dole is the world's largest producer and marketer of high quality fresh fruits and vegetables and packaged foods. They are also encourage us to cook more dishes with Dole Tomato sauce because their tomato sauces are packed with a lot of Lycopene. Lycopene is said to help fight the big C! So what are we waiting for , let's all try the habit of cooking dishes wit lots of Dole Tomato Sauce in it!
