Baby Carnival: A Bazaar for a Cause

Well the Christmas season is almost near a month and you might want to visit Baby Carnival!

BABY CARNIVAL is a Pre-Christmas bazaar by Online Mommies and Daddies.


Booths at Baby Carnival are offered exclusively to online mommies and daddies selling brand new and pre-loved baby items at low prices. It aims to be a venue for crafters and work-at-home parents to network, meet other sellers and offer their products with the lowest-cost rent for higher returns.

There are over 25 concessionaires joining the event with items ranging from pre-loved clothes and toys to brand new items like breastfeeding covers, cloth and disposable diapers, books, feeding bottles, hair accessories and more.

SM CITY San Lazaro 3-Day Sale Shopping and MORE

As promised, I am sharing my Day 1 of the SM City San Lazaro 3-Day Sale Madness. I am one LRT ride away from SM San Lazaro. This community mall won my heart because of its quaint and positive-looking facade that never fails to give me positive vibes when ever I visit it.

Of course, as always I failed to shop during the 10-12nn special discount offer for SMAC cardholders during its first day. I overslept, that's the reason, but surely that's no reason for me to wake up and bond with my fellow bloggers who's up and ready for a whole day of fun mall-hopping and shopping at SM City San Lazaro.

I was so glad I did my shopping and mall hopping with this group of awesome peeps, though I apologized for being so late.

Because they waited too long, It will be a great pep for us to start it all with a "late" lunch, and we all agreed to eat at Wendy's!

We all agreed that we missed Wendy's so much, that we all have the same wish after eating--Please bring back the SALAD BAR!!!

What we ordered is way different if you are Wendy's fan. Since Wendy's Real Meal Deals were the new offerings of Wendy's; we all agreed to order Beef Steak and and the Spring Rolls.

This comfy yet minimal in design-kind-of-sofa will have to patiently waiting in my bucket list for the meantime. We've just moved on to a new house and have to give up our old and bigger sofa, so this one has to wait till we have new house to move in.

But looking at how comfy and warm the hues of these "pillows" (if I'm not mistaken) which you can sit while watching TV in the den, is definitely a must-have for someone like me who has penchant for watching TV a lot.

SOFA-Hopping can be fun but for people who are "innately" lucky will find this yummy moon-cake game more fun!

With my experience in 3-day sales like this, SM CITY SAN LAZARO, was so far the highest and with the most wide-ranged when it comes to items on sale! So on their next 3-Day Sale , I hope I'll be losing more weight so that even the nice tees or blouses on sale will suit me!

After that feet-gobbling mall trip, it's time to pamper ourselves at BEAUTY and BUTTER. That day till Sept.30, 2012 Beauty and Butter will be having 10% off for every service the shoppers will avail.

Beauty and Butter was previously located at the 2nd Floor but now it is strategically located at the lower ground to join other beauty and wellness-offering services.

I chose to have my mani-pedi service and I'm glad (the girl in front of me)my  Nail technician was very accommodating. And did I tell you that I "fancy" their hairbands!

This how my nail art looked like. I'm a bit unhappy on how it looked because it isn't the same with the sample nail art. But just the same I wanted to give my nail tech an "A" for effort.


That afternoon wouldn't be same without ending it with something "sweet" and tummy filling! We ended the day with piping-hot bibingka from Antonio's Bibingka+Coffee.

Of course I'm updated with the current sale events, so here's another SHOPPING and SALE ALERT update.

Tutuban CenterMall: An afternoon of Fun Shopping

In nearly two weeks school will open again. And as early as last month (April), I already have plans on what to shop for my kids’ school needs. When I was young, I’m always excited when the month of MAY comes because that means mom and me will be going to the nearest bookstore to buy my school needs.

Now that I’m a mom myself, I also wanted my kids to have the best even with the things that they need in school. So a very timely invitation from Tutuban Centermall had me going on a Monday afternoon in Divisoria.

As we all know Divisoria is also a haven for moms like me who likes to stretch the capabilities of her money. I like Divisoria because I know and I CAN haggle the prices of the items I want to buy. I haven’t been to Divisoria for the past 6 months and I’m excited to exercise my “tawaran” power !!!

This time Tutuban Centermall gave us Php1,000 cash money to buy whatever  “Back-To-School” needs we can buy with that amount.

Since my two boys are already in elementary, (Zeus in First Grade and LJ in Second Grade); I plan to buy their school uniforms (pants and polo), Socks, briefs, school supplies like notebooks, pencils, crayons and etc.

I was too excited to go on a Monday since it’s in the afternoon, I don’t have any appointments and the weather’s cooperating (brief rain showers over the weekend) and most of all, it’s a shopping date as well with blogger friends lariza, Jing, Rain and Vin.

We were toured by the very nice and accommodating staff of Tutuban Centermall  Ad and Promo, Ms. MJ.

Our group decided to check out the PRIME BLOCK AREA first. Actually, if you were to ask me how to go there, Sorry, but I’m just bad with directions, I just always rely on my memory to guide me. 

What do I have in my list? Well, I'm planning to buy my boys their school uniforms (pants and polo), and some school supplies also. I'm wishing and praying that I could at least buy them all with a budget of Php1,000.

We first went to Prime Block.

 Tutuban Centermall is divided into 3 shopping areas: The Prime Block, Cluster Building and CenterMall.

For me the best area to shop for uniforms is at the Prime Block because it is where I was able to buy my son's pants and uniforms in way much lower price.

Fortunately with the Php1,000 allocated budget, I was able to buy the items above; Alphabet Flashards for Php35 from PaperMart, A Backpack for Php 230, Two pants for Php140 each, Polo at Php130 and 75 (for polo sizes of 10 and 16), Notebooks and school supplies((all amounting to Php215) for Zeus at Php12.50 each and a Shape sorter for only Php35 . I had fun fun shopping at Tutuban CenterMall. I miss those days when I was a kid and mom would bring me along to shop here. Things sure has change since Tutuban Centermall was built. Shopping here makes shopping less cautious of pickpockets (although we can not really avoid things like that can happen in a mall), more cooler ambiance and more shopping choices too. And before I forgot, there are food choices too, just in case you get hungry after all that shopping. You might want to check out Chicken Deli too! Chicken Deli's having their Buy1 Take 1 on the Liempo Meal! That would be a lot of savings, right!

So guys prepare your lists now and troop to Tutuban Centermall and for sure you'll find all the things in your list.

Sale! Sale! Sale! anywhere I turn to, I can read signs "SALE"! As mom who always love to shop,I still would love to haggle with the items that I eye to. But with SM SUPERMALLS, there's no need to do that. I believe one just have to have that keen eye for items with amazing low prices.

Yesterday, I went to SM CITY MANILA. If my memory serves me right, it was during my college days (year 2004) when I was still studying at P.U.P. Sta. Mesa.

And upon checking The SM STORE (formerly SM DEPT STORE), I heard the sales staffs buzzing aboutr the upcoming SM CITY MANILA 3-DAY SALE.

Ah..I see.. that's why I kept seeing the mall staff changing the displays. I'm sure these will be a big day for SM CITY MANILA. With the mall situated at the heart of Manila I'm sure, "They'll keep coming and coming back to SM CITY MANILA" .

Yesterday was jampacked! I have to attend to some of different things that I love doing.

The first one is a contest launch for THERMOS Philippines!

After finishing those 2 events, I just found my feet dragging at 5th Floor of MegaMall,,Gosh Didn't know there was an ongoing sale at the Trade Halls. And of course if these is about bags and SHOES, I'm all for it!

But this time my SHOE HAULS was for my two boys...

I got 2 pairs of HOT WHEELS Sandals, This checkered shoes for my eldest and a nice CHiCCo Shoes for my youngest for only P600 !!!

Lakwatsera Mom: A Memory Revisited at SM CITY NORTH EDSA North Pole Christmas

When I was just a little kid, the one thing I could remember that I anticipated most every year is Christmas. Because as a little girl, I enjoy going out with playmates and sing Christmas carols to neighboring houses, having to wait for Christmas eve is just as surprising as it is with any child. Christmas brings back many Childhood memories of loving , giving and sharing. But if there is one thing that I regret not having is going to mall having Christmas displays and exhibits. What we used to do when I was small is shop for a new dress for me to wear on our Christmas party at school.And that would be the signal that yuletide season is so near.

Where do we shop? Just sharing.. We used to live at Q.C SM North Edsa. During those times, SM NORTH EDSA is the only mall we could conveniently go to. Every Sundays after going to church, we would automatically go to SM NORTH EDSA and do shopping. A lot of childhood memories are made here.

And now that I'm married and have kids too! I am doing the same things with my kids. I will bond with them more! And though we are currently residing at the Cubao area, nothing can stop me from visiting SM North Edsa once in a while. And just recently I noticed , bigger improvements have paved way to SM CITY North Edsa's development as one of the shopping and family destinations these year.

World Fair Trade Day is a worldwide celebration of Fair Trade which has been supported for the past few years by thousands of citizens, Fair Trade Organizations, social and environmental movements, local authorities, national governments, multilateral institutions, producers and consumers all around the planet. Last year, more than 52 countries took part in thisglobal call for change. This year, more than 73 countries in 5 regions are expected to participate.

In the Philippines, WFTO Asia will be celebrating the World Fair Trade Day in Shangri La Plaza Mall Grand Atrium on May 13 to 15. There will be a photo exhibit, a mini expo of certified Fair Trade products from all over Asia, and booths where people can sign up to become a volunteer and/or a sponsor.

In line with the organization’s regional consumer brand & logo with the tagline, “Shopping with a Conscience,” WFTO Asia will launch its consumer campaign ‘100% Guilt Free Shopper’

on May 14.

The campaign aims to inform everyone, especially the consumers, what Fair Trade is and the 10 principles it represents. It aims to empower the consumers that by SWITCHING to Fair Trade by either BUYING (certified Fair Trade products and/or the organization’s advocacy merchandise)or SUPPORTING (Sponsoring/Donating/Fundraising, becoming a volunteer intern, and or participating in the organization’s events), they have the power to BEAT POVERTY, BEAT CLIMATE CHANGE, BEAT DISCRIMINATION, BEAT EXPLOITATION and BEAT IGNORANCE.
 

“This campaign targets 1,000,000 switchers by the end of the year. 1,000,000 people in Asia who realized that thoughtless buying isn’t enough. 1,000,000 people who believes that they can use the power of their purchase to change the lives of millions of disadvantaged communities all over the world,” says Toni Zuniga, Business Development and Brand Officer of WFTO Asia.

“Fair Trade is such a worthy advocacy and movement. It’s really big in countries like the UK and the US. It’s about time that Asia knows about it & unite for change which is not easy because of the relatively low awareness of the Asian consumers about Fair Trade.” says Zuniga

Many celebrities like Emma Watson, Sir Paul Mc Cartney and Annie Lennox have been active supporters of Fair Trade. Emma Watson, for example, partnered with a WFTO member organization called ‘People Tree’ to release a line of Fair Trade clothing in the UK.

As part of the 100% Guilt Free Shopper campaign, WFTO Asia will be introducing 12 personalities who’ll be the Ambassadors of Fair Trade here in the Philippines. These individuals came from different fields and industries, some are already household names while others are well-known in their respective fields.

“Anybody can be a Guilt Free Shopping Ambassador. You don’t have to be a celebrity or automatically be a 100% Fair Trade practioner. The first step in becoming one is to be educated about Fair Trade and the 10 principles that comprise it. The next step is to slowly transition to Fair Trade. The change doesn’t have to be radical- Buy a Fair Trade product and try it. Sign up and be a WFTO volunteer or a sponsor. By the end of 2011, we aspire to have 1,000,000 switchers, 1,000,000 Ambassadors for Fair Trade.” says Zuniga.

WFTO Asia has partnered with the Philippine Climate Change Commission, AIESEC Philippines, Miss Earth Foundation, Nakamurka.com, Herword.com & Business World to make this event possible.
