"Coffee Prince" press launch to be streamed online tonight

GMA Network will be launching to the members of the press tonight its latest primetime offering, "Coffee Prince" starring Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal. Netizens may "tune-in" online via GMA's media portal, www.gmanetwork.com.

"Coffee Prince" is the Philippine adaptation of the popular Korean romantic comedy series of the same title, which drew in high TV ratings when it first aired on GMA-7.

TV SHOWS: PROTEGE'S First Elimination Night

Avid fans of Protege': The Battle for The Big Artista Break will hold its first elimination nights. After last week's battle night, in which the bottom 10 proteges' was announced, I'm sure this is the finally the week that they all been waiting for.

The bottom 10 proteges' are as follows: Mykel Ong and Arny Ross from South Luzon; Zandra Summer and Mitch Capili from Visayas; Vien Alen King and Kelly D. from Mega Manila; Apple Vega and Ruru Madrid from Mindanao; and Japs de Luna and Glenn Roy from North and Central Luzon. 

How will each of the proteges' convince the Protege' Celebrity mentors that  they deserve to stay ? Each protege will perform a talent in front of the Judges, that they will the best to help them survive in this battle. 

Meanwhile, the Top10 Proteges' who are safe will perform with Just One Summer lead stars Julie Ann San Jose and Elmo Magalona.

This is is just one of the battles that each bottom 10  proteges' will have to endure every elimination night. So who do you think is your top5  proteges' who will bid the Protege' stage goodbye?

From thousands of young dreamers who auditioned nationwide for a stab at stardom, Protege narrows down the list to the coveted Top 20 aspirants who will compete in GMA's original artista search.

With all the "Artista" search happening in other TV channels, no wonder a lot of aspirants have tried their luck.Is it about Money, Fame or Passion for acting? Whatever, still the Top 20 Protege will have a long way to go. There's so many challenges and conflicts that they will soon encounter so I hope these Proteges will take by heart and with burning desire what ever passion they have to help them catch their dreams.

PRO'TEGE' First Gala Night on Sunday AUGUST 5, 2012

The search for the next big Kapuso stars officially begins as Protégé makes its highly-anticipated and star-studded premiere on Philippine television this Sunday, August 5. The first live gala night happens after IBilib on GMA's Sunday Grande block.

 

After several months of its intensive nationwide hunt, Protégé will finally unveil the coveted TOP 20 aspirants who will go head-to-head in the weekly elimination nights and outdo each other in hopes of winning over the judges' and the viewers' votes.

This competition is touted to be the grandest artista search this year as five celebrity mentors are tapped to train, supervise, and educate the Top 20 protégés in every rehearsal, workshop, weekly tests and trainings.

The mentors who were sent out to different parts of the country to find their four (2 boys and 2 girls) protégés include acclaimed actor and TV director Ricky Davao (Northern and Central Luzon), seasoned actress and TV director Gina Alajar (Southern Luzon), drama and action film legend Phillip Salvador (Mindanao), multimedia icon Jolina Magdangal (Visayas), and multi-awarded actor Roderick Paulate (Mega Manila).

Two winners will be proclaimed at the finals night -- one male protégé and one female protégé. At stake are 12 million pesos worth of cash prizes and a management contract with GMA 7.

As expected, the four esteemed judges -- well-respected talent manager/director Bert de Leon, multi-awarded drama actress Cherie Gil, entertainment guru Joey de Leon, and GMA Network Films President Atty. Annette Gozon-Abrogar -- will grill the Top 20 protégés armed with their hard-hitting yet motivational critiques.

All geared up to lend support and boost the spirit of the aspirants are Gala Presenter Dingdong Dantes and Journey Host Carla Abellana.

DOC MCSTUFFINS is Disney Junior's New Kiddie Show

Having been a kid myself, I know how it feels to have my eyes glued to my favorite kiddie show! But educated as I was and a bit obedient to my mom, I always make sure first that I did my school tasks so that after it I could get lazy all I want.

I have two kids and both are in their 1^st and 2^nd grade in elementary school. Before they would watch tv all day but with all the fast uprising of tech stuff like online games, they began to have less time watching.

I got to know if there’s a chance that they will like to go back to their usual routine of watching their favorite tv shows. When? How? 

Simple! I brought them to Disney’s new TV show preview of ‘DOC McSTUFFINS”. Dottie “Doc” McStuffins is a 6-year old “toy doctor” with a compassionate heart and a knack for healing toys and stuffed animals around her neighbourhood. She has the ability to talk to toys once she puts on her stethoscope and run's a doctor's clinic for toys out of her playhouse. Dottie's trusted toy friends are : Lambie (the lamb who loves to cuddle), Hallie (a jolly Hippo receptionist) and Chilly (a hypochondriac stuffed snowman).

 Your kids will enjoy original songs sung by the characters such as "Time For Your Check-Up". At every episode also, Doc here gives advice to its young viewers about staying healthy.

 My two buys enjoyed the preview party of Do McStuffins that participated in the games and even gained new friends like Maia (cutey daughter of  (R0ckstarm0mma) and Chase (son of Chic Sassy Mom)

 And this Mommy-daughter tandem ADEE and Leira also made it to the Doc McStuffins Viewing Party!

This new Disney Junior original series always embodies their wish to communicate to the kids and teach them the importance of values suh as compassion for people and things and most importantly helping a hand to anyone who needs it.

So Moms and kids out there be sure to watch it as it premiers on JULY 9, 2012 9:30am only on Disney Junior.

AMAYA to Hit Philippine Television BIGTIME!

AMAYA

There's been alot of buzz about GMA's newest and most ambitious "epic-serye " AMAYA".  It's been said that Amaya was thoroughly researched ay paves back from our roots historically speaking. GMA is proud to present that they are the first to showcase an "epic-serye" in prime time television. 

AMAYA is set way back the 1500s and the story starts during the time of Rajah  Mangubat's reign. He is known as a good warrior and undefeated one. Until one day a "Babaylan" or a priestess porphesizes that there will be a day that he will be defeated. This made Rajah Mangubat anxious because not only will he be defeated but this person will also take power over him and that person is a girl who has a twin for a snake. Soon after knowing this. Rajah Mangubat ordered among his village tribes that all pregnant women be killed. But because Datu Bugna's tribe is a long-time ally, his tribe was spared, not knowing that the one he's after is in Datu Bugna's tribe. Amaya here is the daughter of datu bugna from Dal'lang, a slave .And upon knowing Datu Mangubat's orders, Datu Bugna decided to hide her daughter Amaya in a "binukot", a secret chamber and tells Amaya  that her mother is dead. While Amaya's twin snake was thrown away to the forest and is told that the snake will only come back if Amaya is in dire need.This is where the story starts to complicate things.

And it will be good for everyone of us to follow what's gonna happen to future episodes this coming May 30, 2011 at GMA's undisputed Telababad block.

Rochelle Pangilinan as Marikit the eldest daughter of Dian Lamitan, Datu Bugna's evil first wife.

She will also be competing for Bagani's love.

I don't know if the stars are just with me but I got invited to it's premier screening SM The Block and it was my first to attend an event like this. I was ecstatic when I learned that we will be seating along with the Vip's. Oh my God I said to myself this is really is it! Good thing I had my camera with me and I got to take pictures of the artist who are there to support the event.

 I'm glad to see my ex-professor from college Ms. Rustica Carpio who will also be playing

a pivotal role in this epic-serye and Ms. Perla Bautista

And I spotted early seating at the event was the Director of the epic-serye himself.

I got so giddy knowing that my favorite historian was there to grace the event, so I took this chance 

to have our picture taken together.

Sighted also was famous multi-awarded Director Laurice Guillen with her equally beautiful daughter Irina Feleo. By the one of the cast is also her daughter, Ana Feleo.

"Amaya" Ms. Marian Rivera herself was there to grace the event seated beside Roxanne Barcelo.

As I have said this my first premier night experience, and excited that I was, I cannot keep my butt glued on my seat because I see so many stars literally. And a lot of Marian Rivera's fans showed up. And just like them I just can't wait to watch the episodes and watching the premier will give me the edge since I am among the first to see the pilot episode. Over all I could say is that these epic-serye is well researched based on the dialogues and terms they used. Some of their terms ranged back Pre-hispanic years like "Kiral" (meaning lewd or prostitute)," Uripon" (meaning slave), "Umbo" (term for older sister) and etc. I also admire how grand the setting and where the locations where shot. I will give 5 stars for the nice shots Director Alejandre had made. and I just couldn't help but admired the casting because I could sense that in the coming nights they will leave their audiences in awe because of their acting prowess. Indeed this epic-serye is a "Must-watch" everynight routine for most of the GMA Kapuso fans and for those who will-be Kapuso fans.

After the premier I was in awe , I'm kind-of curious how the fans are relating to this upcoming epic-serye. Are they in awe just like me? And things like that. And wait here's a glimpse of how jam-packed the premier is.

 AMAYA fans are all in pink to support the newest and boldest epic-serye to hit our tv screens.

I guess I became a fan too after watching this premier and will be recommending this to the others since watching Amaya promotes historical awareness on our children especially nowadays more and more kids are attuned to watching and laying video games and not engaging on more relevant t.v programs like these. I commend the whole staff of this show and GMA for paving way to yet an another "first" in Philippine television.
