Your Favorite Ventriloquist "Kuya Mau " Joined It's Showtime's PINASIKAT !

When I was younger , I love it when my mom would tell me that I got an invitation from one of my kiddie friends. Birthday parties for me means- Food, Games, prizes and of course a Magic Show.

Just like any other kid, I would be more than  willing to go back to my seat when the magician ushers us because it means half hour to an hour time full of laughter and priceless kiddie entertainment.

I work on a 3am-12nn shift. Oh by the way your resident blogger here is a technical support agent already and it has always been my routine to watch "It's Showtime" (ABS-CBN noontime show which airs 12:30am -3pm)



When I clicked on my tv , a familiar face has caught my attention. During that time the segment is PINASIKAT- It's Showtime's newest talent segment which caters to Filipinos with Amazing talent and never-before-seen acts.

Guess who was at my tv screen strutting his act -- KUYA MAU. For those who's not familiar with his name "Kuya Mau" but very familiar with his acts, Kuya Mau is one of the sought-after Magician, Ventriloquist, Puppeteer, Party-Host

Kuya Mau is very well-known to be among the best when it comes to providing children with educational entertainment. I am so glad to see Filipino ingenuity being shown on a local talent show. It means that you dont always have to do random dangerous acts just to so people will appreciate your talent. It amazes me as well that our audience now what real entertainment is. It is also a nice practice since the younger audience will not define talent just by a one dangerous act. The New Media nowadays plays a big role on how it will mold our future citizens so it is really best that as early as now that we should be able to let our kids know what are the different kinds of entertainment.

Last year we were able to get Kuya Mau's services and pretty much we can say that it' s really worth getting him as our finale for my nephew's party.

MY FAMILY and I: Zeus Soon To Be a First Grader !!!

My son Zeus recently finished and attended his moving -up ceremonies. Next year he'll be in first grade. But since he is a bit small for his age (he's 6 y/o), he's a bit reluctant when we always brought the subject of him entering "Big School".

That's why these past few days, to help him boost his confidence I always tell him stories about me when I was the same age as he was. And if that was not enough, I always tell him that He was my SON. And that just like Mommy, he'll grow smart too. (Oh well?!)

Last year we were bombarded with an alarming news that world will end in 2012. But is it really true? What are the facts ? Does the things we knew about it enough to calm us down? But hey it’s already 2012! Why don’t we visit The NIDO SCIENCE DISCOVERY CENTER and learn altogether what it is with the supposedly apocalypse? And let’s hear and see what Physics and Astrophysics have to say about the end of the world.

The NIDO SCIENCE DISCOVERY SCIENCE together with PHILIPPINE ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY presents NATIONAL ASTRONOMY WEEK- 2012: THE UNIVERSE SURVIVES

International guest speakers like Dr. Reinabelle Reyes (University of Chicago),Mr.George Martin (International Planetarium Society) are just some of the speakers invited for the upcoming ASTRONOMY COVENTION SEMINAR to be held at The Nido Science Discovery Center. 

I’ve been here the past year with my kids, with a purpose to have them learn more about the world around us. For me it is really but beneficial that we as parents encourage our kids to be more curious on what’s happening in the world around us. We are the first ones who should be eager so as to encourage them more and have them aware of what’s happening with world. So after the launch I will schedule to have a visit here again at The NIDO SCIENCE DISCOVERY CENTER with my kids because this is another learning experience they haven’t discover yet.

So to let you guys in on what the International Speakers will conduct in these series of Symposia, here are some of the facts that they’ll discuss:

In some quarters, 2012 evokes a harrowing vision of the end of the world. Speculations grounded on religious and similar perspectives have a long provenance. Part of the symposium will focus on what Physics and AstroPhysics have to say about the end of the world as we know it.

Only Planets Mercury and Venus can pass between the Earth and the Sun. These events are called TRANSITS, during which we see these planets appearing as circular black dots appear to slowly move across the Sun’s face. Although Transits of mercury happen about 13 times each century, transits of Venus are rare. They occur in pairs separated by 8 years, following thereafter the next pairs occurs more than a century later.

On June 6 this year, Venus transits the Sun for the last time until the year 2117. In the past, the transits were very important , as they were used to calculate the distance between the Earth and the Sun. Today, we have no need of this method. However, the rarity of these events and the colorful history of their observation capture public attention.

The Speakers:

Dr. Reinabelle Reyes will tackle “The Birth and Death of the Milky Way. She will tell and use the latest cosmological simulations to tell the story of how galaxies in the Universe have formed over the last ten billion years and how our own Milky Way galaxy will meet its end a “mere” 3 billion years from now.

He will discuss an out-of-the-world topic- “A little Black Dot: The Transit of Venus”.

Reading this information excites me because all along we knew everything there is to know about our dear planet and how the other affects its existence. Though my kids will be too young comprehend all these, I still think it will contribute a lot in terms of knowledge, who knows later on their education , they will somehow use these knowledge.

Seriland Fantasy World: Every Kids Fantasy!
