My Nails Got "Spiced" at Spice Body Spa and Salon

I was feeling sick that day. I don't know if it was just about the weather or it was just me. Maybe it was me .I feel like I need somebody to brighten my day. But I guess that somebody "special" was nowhere but across the globe. what can I do but do something before the blues get a "whack" at me.

So instead of bumming and feelin' somewhat lonely, I decide to check a new a body spa and a nail salon that a friend suggested that I check out.

After a very tiring and stressful day at the office, my feet dragged me to the outskirts of Tomas Morato and check out this newly-opened body Spa and salon combined.

Make way for the newest "pampering" haven there is in Tomas Morato---- SPICE BODY SPA and SALON. It is located at M3 Mezzanine Floor, FSS Bldg. II, 18 Scout Tuason cor, Scout Castor, Barangay Laging Handa, 1103 Quezon City.

Spice Body Spa and Salon is your "one-stop" establishment which offers a wide array of services from Hair care needs like Extenso, Rebonding, Traditional/Digital Perm, Hair Treatments (for Dry Hair, Damage Hair, Dandruff, Oily Scalp and even Hair-Loss), Hair and Make-up and even special home services like Bridal Make-up and Up-Styling. Aside from salon services, they also cater to those people who love to pamper their body.

I'm sure you will love their "pampering" services like: Massages, Body Scrub, foot Care (Foot Scrub, Foot Mask and Foot Massages), Waxing and Paraffin treatments.

I'm sure you all are curious what serviced I availed when I visited this new salon. Since I just got my hair color that time, as much as I wanted to a have new color again lol, I chose to have my nails done, since this is the most "deprived" part of my body most of the time.

I don't have the nicest pair of feet and hands, but I believe despite it being not "pleasing" to the eyes, I still have to make sure that I still take care of it and make sure that it is taken cared of and pampering that it truly deserved.

Meet Mona, my nail technician that night. I really liked her because she made sure that whole process is "ouch-free". As we all know, most of the time, most clients like us we barely entrust our nail "in-grown" - the dead skin in our hands and feet, to someone new and "inexperienced" because we dread it being "murdered".

But to my surprise, Mona made sure that she got the dead skin and I can't recall if there was a moment when I said "ouch". To think that I had this very thick "dead" skin in my toe nails. She was simply amazing. To all of my friends who'w contented with their nail technicians even if it means having all the blood of at your sight, I really recommend that you check her out and experience an "ouch"-less mani-pedi.

I'm not used to choosing "pink" nail color but since I'm living it all out now-I chose "Purple Panic  from China Glaze nail color collection and "Quirky Smile" of Misa Nail Polish. Now that sounds interesting for nail clor name:)

So loved the color, it was very eye-catching. Loved how nice the color "pink" looked so "pop" on me.

Aside from the massage and hand and foot services that they offer, Spice Body Spa and Salon also offers a very wide and extensive number of Hair and Salon needs that will surely cater to any client or customer.

SPICE BODY SPA AND SALON uses only the trusted and very competitive brands in demand in the Salon business like L'Oreal and Framesi , all of which are known for its expertise in both hair and coloring trends.

They all use these brands because they wanted to make sure that all clients are assured of quality and safety. They value every clients needs that's why, for Spice and Body Spa and Salon, the clients are on top mind.

From L-R: Michael Santos, Charlie Mendoza, Ms. Ann and Jayner Santos
They are the very efficient and Stylists of SPICE BodySpa and Salon.

Big Daddy Jay's All American Bbq: Your Go-To "Down-South" Cuisine Restaurant in Quezon City

With the sudden rise of restaurants here in Metro, I cannot imagine if one can seriously patronize one restaurant with a particular cuisine.

In the metro alone, one cannot miss a restaurant. With the sudden surge of the restaurant and food business, there is at least one restaurant willing to suffice anyone's hunger in a beat.

I am so happy to share this one happy memory, (which turns out to be not a "memory" anymore) with Big Daddy Jay's All American Bbq. My first encounter with Big Daddy Jay's was with Ultimate Taste Test 6 in Rockwell Tent Makati. They're one of the newest and upcoming food finds that should be in evry "foodie-must-try" list. Luckily, I am one of the first 1,500 guest (along with my kids) to have tried their yummy "baby back ribs". Even my kids had the same thought, it was indeed "DELICIOUSLY close to being DIVINE".

I made one realization and that is memories are not meant to be memories as is... because I am REUNITED with "best" Smoked BbqRibs in Town. How? I just found out that they opened their first branch at area. The best thing was - it was only blocks away from our house.

It was really funny though because the first time I saw their signage when the jeep that I was riding to incidentally passed by familiar signage that says, "Big Daddy Jay's All American Bbq". The moment I got home, I have to check online if that is the same Big Daddy Jay's I've been raving back in UTT6.

So last week after the heavy downpour from office, I promised the kids that I will be taking them out for dinner. So I told them to get dressed and they asked," Mom was it far"? It's a common question because normally I would bring them somewhere far and new to their taste buds. They didn't knew that it was "delish" reunion.

Big Daddy Jay's All American Bbq recently opened in our area (Project4, Q.C) last April 2013. So imagine how new they were in the area.

The owners told me that they were really grateful of the exposure they got from UTT6 since they only wanted to check if they will passed the discriminating palate of the foodies from the Metro.

Big Daddy Jay's All American Bbq is known for their yummy "smoked and slow-cooked Bbq ribs" that came from "Southern Cuisine" in the U.S.

It was very cold that night so I guess , it is just right to treat the boys to an awesome dinner of "smokin" ribs.

Half SLab of Bbq Ribs Php410

The sides
cup of Buttered rice, Mixed veggies, Herbed Baby Potatoes and Grilled Corn-on-a Cob
My boys loved the baby potatoes!
Prices for the sides starts at Php25-30 only

 Honey Mustard Wings

Buffalo Wings

The Chicken wings is an awesome match with the slab sauce although it was really meant for the slab ribs. The rib sauce was so rich in flavor that you won't resist asking them the recipe (of course it's a top secret!!!).

When you visit Big Daddy Jay's All American Bbq, don't forget to order their yummy
Key Lime Pie for dessert. It's a perfect dessert to end your "Down-South Dinner" !!!

They also serve Imported Beers !!!

Location-wise, Big Daddy Jay's is not your ideal location but satisfied and craving customers kept coming back. I must say it was the ribs which really stood out even from the first time I've tasted it at "Ultimate Taste Test 2.0" in Rockwell Tent PowerPlant Mall.

When you sliced the ribs, it was so tender that you won't be needing the extra effort to do so. There are a lot of things to say about Big Daddy Jay's All American Bbq.

Apl de Ap Transforming Lives through his Apl de Ap Foundation

ALLAN PINEDE LINDO also known as Apl de Ap of the very famous, Black Eyed Peas, which also is known for their hit songs like... Where is The Love and etc.

Apl is not only a Hollywood rapper, record producer , musician, artist Grammy Awardee, he is also known for his great heart towards fellow needy Filipinos.

Now Apl de Ap is not only known for his musical ingenuity but he is also known for his  advocasies gearing to mentoring, coaching and now Art Transformation through communities.

Apl de Ap and Me!
Apl thank you for making greeting me and my boyfriend Steve on our upcoming monthsary .
You Rock!!!

Aside from being The Voice of the Philippine's Coach, he is also now busy with his very own "foundation".

You "read" it right. It was the first time that Apl and his team at the foundation invited bloggers to formally announced about Apl's newest baby, "the Apl de Ap Foundation.

The Apl de ap Foundation" was launched last year along with the "We Can Be Anything" Campaign which encourages Filipino children to stay in school and strives to build at least 2,000 classrooms in remote Philippines areas.

The Foundation also is on the works of building a school that will prepare marginalized, creative and gifted students to become global professionals in arts and technology.

He also shared that since we are in this age of technology wherein everyone shares on their social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and etc, it is now the right time to spread the word about volunteeerism, the joy of giving and how we can help other people.

Yesterday, August 22, 2013 me -along with other bloggers had a chance to get to meet Apl de Ap beyond his advocacy and philantrophy work.

Apl de Ap is doing all of these simply because he wants to give back to his fellow pinoys. He wanted to empower his fellow pinoys who needed financial and educational support especially those who are musically-talented. "I am willing to share my talent and time to give to the community. It is important to give back, given the opportunity, I would do the same thing all over again. What goes around, comes around", shares Apl.

While listening to this man, Apl has made an impact on me as a person, who may not be directly can be responsible of of his fellow Pinoy, that " hey here is one Pinoy who is making that one big effort to help out and not become a pain in the ass", that we all should be doing our part- no matter small or big it may be.

Another thing is that, this is what Apl said during the Q.A, Stay Who I am, Know Where you From". Basically for me, it means that for people like him who had the chance to be somebody in a foreign land- never forget where your roots are. If you can help- then help with out asking anything in return".

Beyond his community works, Apl also is also one of the coaches in The Voice of The Philippines. After a grueling and mind-boggling "battles" week for aspiring The Voice Aspirants. Team Apl has now only six remaining artists under his tutelage. Corazon Dela Cruz, Janice Javier, Thor Dulay, Jessica Reynoso, Thristan Perfecto and Penelope Matanguihan. These 6 artists has a lot to share about how Apl has inspired them as their coach.

Team Apl
(Janice Javier, Thristan Perfecto, Penelope Matanguihan, Thor Dulay, Corazon dela Cruz and Moira

Janice Javier even said that if they have to do it all again, pertaining to the blind auditions, she would still be choosing Apl de Ap. Apl has also been bringing the team to the different advocacies that he does, the most recent is their visit yesterday at Tondo where in they prepared sandwiches to our typhoon Maring victims.

Thor Dulay
He is the first artist in the Blind Auditions who got 4 coaches to turned their chairs.

Apl de Ap's story is such an "eye-opener" for me since it was amazing and inspiring to know someone like him who didn't doubted for a second on how he can reach out and help his fellow pinoys who are in need.

Knowing What Makes You Happy: My SCAR-ring Story

Scars, Scars, and more scars. Not just scars but also bruises.Almost all people do have a scar. And do you believe that beyond that SCAR is a STORY, and beyond it is a LESSON to be LEARNED.

If I were to count how many scars and bruise I have and how did I got them, we will be counting till the next

day. Yeah that's a lot

These scars and bruises has been part of my life in one way or another. I believe it has a story that helped me mold on who I am now as a person.

I have a scar in the left cheek. I got it when I was 7 y/o. Playmate threw her mom's "bakya" (wooden slipper) right at my face. It landed on my left cheek leaving me with a thin line of scar.

It hurt a lot. That playmate was my first childhood bestfriend. We always do the same things together during that time.

Though I remember the reason why she did that is because she feels I'm ugly and I said it's not true. My young heart that time was hurt. It felt bad to hear that the only friend that you trust thinks of you as someone who is ugly. That she sees me as someone who is physically imperfect.

I really felt even up to now that being beautiful is only skin deep. Good thing that I didnt dwell on what my playmate has said to me.I focused on what being beautiful means to me and that is first YOU have to believe in  yourself. If you believe in yourself and stop minding the negative thoughts that other people say of you-then that's the time that you move on and do the things that actually makes you happy.

That experience has actually taught me that there are things beyond perfect. It made me realized that one must experience tough things in order for one to know how she/he can overcome it and eventually prevail. It somehow will test you as person and how you will able to resolve it.I can relate my experience to that of a scar. It's there but you can actually do something about it.

I may have that scar forever but that won't stop me from being happy and do the things I love the most- and  that is to do as my heart says.

I also learned one valuable from it- you must think of the people who cares for and LOVE you beyond your imperfection. The people who truly care for you are the ones who will truly be there for you no matter what. Learn to love them as they are the one who truly sees how beautiful you are INSIDE and OUT.

But given the options, if only there was Contractubex that time, my scar would have fade as time goes.

Contractubex is the leading treatment of scars. It also has allantoin that helps moisturize as Contractubex helps your scars heal.

So for those people still hiding beyond those scars , I advice you that there's still more time to realize what you are really worth of. Know your worth, respect and love yourself so that others may follow suit.
