DISNEY on ICE 2012: On Princesses and Heroes: My Favorites Scenes

The kid in me was in awe when I got to watch Disney on Ice 2012: Princesses and Heroes. It marked a lot of "firsts" . It was "my" first time to watch. It was my kids' first time to watch a Disney show at The Smart Araneta Coliseum. And Most fabulous and memorable part is that, it was our family's first time to watch (together) a DISNEY on ICE show.

I will be forever grateful to Araneta Coliseum for inviting me and my family to watch Disney on Ice 2012: Princesses and Heroes.

This is just the first part of 2-part blog post of my coverage of the show. For the first part, I will give you a sneak on some of the scenes of the show. The photos I will be sharing are my personal favorite. I'm sure after taking a peak, you'll be asking/searching for the list of their shows. Don't worry I'll be sharing the details at the last part of this post.

Iyaz Topbills Eastwood's Countdown to 2013

New year is just around the corner. I can't believe that in two days the year 2012 will be saying goodbye and we'll all be welcoming the year 2013.

As Filipinos we are all known for our unparalleled optimism. Whether we've been struck by recently by typhoon Pablo, still there's no stopping us in welcoming and celebrating a brand "new" year a head of us!

We all have a lot to look forward next year? May it be new work opportunities, new relationships, goals or priorities.

But before we all head on to that, I know that every one's busy on their New Year "preps". Until now I'm not yet sure on how I will celebrate on New Year's Eve.

If you're one of those people who are still "unsure" on how to welcome the year "2013" or bored with how you celebrate New Year's Eve?

Why don't you try it a-la "Megaworld Lifestyle" way! Clueless? Then read on.....

If you're bored of the usual New Year's Eve prep like cooking food for the Media Noche and stuck waiting at your homes for 12 o'clock to strike, then visit Megaworld Lifestyle Mall's Eastwood City.

Too many exciting activities will be happening at Eastwood City as they welcome the year 2013 and celebrate it with a countdown.

Eastwood City guests will be "Living the Good Life" as they will be treated to a celebration where in they are the only "lifestyle" mall which will be treating its guests with a "Foreign" artist who will top-bill this year's Eastwood City Countdown for the year 2013.

I will not keep this a secret anymore!

This year's Eastwood City New Year's Eve countdown will be headed by none other than renowned "Reggae-Hiphop" artist IYAZ .

IYAZ is a multi-platinum singer, songwriter and rapper. IYAZ first burst into the music scene with the hit single "Replay" which reached platinum in different countries all over the world. It was followed by 2 successful tracks like "Solo" and "Pretty Girls". And who will forget his collab with our very own Charice with the pop-ballad "Pyramid".

Other prominent artists who will also perform and "rock" Eastwood City's New Year Countdown to 2013 will be music icon Ely Buendia, award winning Filipino rock band UP DHARMA DOWN , hiphop and R&B hitmakers URBANATION, all-girl rock group GENERAL LUNA and X-Factor Philippines Finalist Mark Mabasa.

Families will have a lot to look forward on that night as guest should also not miss the grand fireworks display right after the Dazzling Star Drop, an Eastwood tradition which is on its second year that is also patterned from New York Times Square Ball Drop, marking the beginning of 2013.

Festivities will start at 6pm at the Eastwood Mall Open Park. The event is made possible the help of Richmonde Hotel, Emperador Brandy, The Philippine Star, Business World, HerWord.Com, Monster Radio RX 93.1, Crossover 105.1 Manila and Myx!

I don't want to limit myself into eating what I like. Life is short so I will enjoy what I love doing. OneA KTV in Antipolo: The Best KTV Place in the EAST

Christmas is soooo near! There are parties left and right. With Christmas shopping, it is just right that we also set aside some time to relax, unwind and enjoy!

Our group pic en-route to OneA Family KTV and Sports Bar

And that's what exactly what we did last Saturday (December 15, 2012). Me and my friends (Jayl,Kuya Ricky, Anne with Boyfriend Maico, Fpj, Rain and Couples Jinkee and Ruel went to OneA Family KTV and Sports Bar

There's a lot of KTV's (Karaoke TV) in and out of the Metro but the challenging part in selecting the "perfect" KTV experience can be fun and a bummer too; it depends where you guys have booked your Karaoke session.

Things to keep in mind when looking for a "KTV" place:

-Find if they have several rooms which you and your friends can choose from.
-Ask your group's budget.
-Ask the Manager or people-in-charge if their room rates are separate from the food bill, because some KTV's charge separately for the room charge per hour plus the food that you will be ordering.
-Does the KTV place offer good sound quality and can offer a wide array of new selection of songs?

My sissy Ann Ville and boyfriend Maico Dungo

All of these queries must be answered when you and your group of friends decide to bond over good food and relaxing ambiance.

And speaking about food, let me share with you  what we ordered while enjoying our Karaoke Tv experience.

Beef Tacos Php150

Marguerita Pizza Php220

 Sinigang

Our Karaoke TV bonding session here at OneA Family KTV and  Sports Bar was one of my favorite and the most "hilarious"! Why ? We decided to have our very own version of "Karaoke King and Queen" ala OneA Family KTV and Sports version.

Since boys out number us girls that time, boys had to fight for the title of Karaoke King.

Maico Dungo sang "Basta Kasama Kita"

FPJ who sang Love of My Life

Rain de Ocampo sang "Honesty"

To my delight, I almost got to sing 2 sets of songs because their KTV has a an updated song list. Most of their  songs are the latest and likes of "Oppa Gangnam Style" by Psy, GoodTimes and etc. So if you love KTV's and wanted updated song lists plus competitive quality sound system, the OneA Family KTV and Sports Bar is the "Right" choice.

 High-tech quality sound from JBL

Payphone by Maroon 5

OneA Family KTV and Sports Bar is located at Comoda Ville Sitio Ruhat, Sumulong Highway Antipolo Rizal and it is open from 10am-2am.

I was surprised to find a lot of new songs in their song book, which means the owner has always been updating his KTV  song book lists for the loyal and soon-to-be customers of OneA Family KTV and Sports Bar.

OneA Family KTV and Sports Bar is not only for those KTV fanatics. OneA also can also serve company events like meetings, company parties, private parties, sports events, weddings and photo shoots.

They actually have 5 rooms to choose from but basically it starts at Php1,000 per room/consumable. Their food offerings comes from Cafe' Lupe, a Restaurant located just above OneA Family KTV and Sports Bar which Mr. Alvin Carranza also owns, so rest assured that the food is delicious and has enough serving for your group.

What's nice with Onea Family KTV and Sports Bar is that aside from being a KTV place, it situated in Antipolo where in you could see via overlooking the tall buildings of the Metro.

It has also a lot of parking space so no worries if your friends arrives separately in their cars.  The cold breeze will will definitely wanting you bring your jackets and also have your pictures taken at the very nice view waiting for you.

So take my word it, if you want a different relaxation and bonding sesh may it be with your friends or family, be sure to bring them here at OneA Family KTV and Sports Bar. Wait there's more.. in the coming months OneA Lounge and OneA Hostel will also soon rise in this area, making it an-all-in one hub for those who want an outdoor experience!

Before I end my post here, let me share with you the "first" OneA KTV Family and Sports Bar Kinand Queen Bloggers Edition.  Drumroll please..dyararran....

From L-R: Ms. Apple of OneA, Me , Jayl and Ms. Jinkee Umali who made was the who invited us in behalf of the owner Mr. Alvin Carranza. Special thanks to Ms. Apple who was our lovely host that day and made our KTV session an unforgettable experience.

Me and Jayl Aquino of (www.Blog-Ph.com) won the King and Queen Bloggers Edition of

Bb.Pilipinas-Universe 2012 Janine Togonon's Send-Off Party

Finally after several months since she bagged the local crown, it’s Janine’s time to shine.

With the Miss Universe 2012 pageant just a few weeks away, sponsors, Bb. Pilipinas queens and media gave Miss Universe Philippines Janine Mari Tugonon a rousing send off during the Official Presentation held at the Gateway Cinema, Araneta Center. It was in April of this year when Janine bagged the much-coveted crown before a mammoth crowd at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. In the months that ensued, Janine would be deluged by questions about pressure after back-to-back impressive finishes by her predecessors, the policy changes of Miss Universe and several rumors about the time and venue of the staging of this year’s Miss Universe pageant.  But instead of letting all these distractions affect her negatively, Janine simply focused her energies and attention in preparing for what could be the most important event so far in her young life. This is the reason for her grace and composure despite the distractions.  “When I won the Miss Universe Philippines 2012 title, I felt really pressured. Now that the actual competition is fast approaching, emotions are much more intense, but I also feel calm and confident knowing that I can and that I will give my best. I’m 100 percent ready,” shares Janine.

Her pre-pageant trainings are not to be taken lightly. Janine’s trips to the gym have been frequent and rigorous. Her love for ballet has become useful in terms of weight loss – she dances at home to help shed the unnecessary pounds. Together with her fellow Binibining Pilipinas 2012 winners, she practices the pasarela or the beauty queen’s way of walking, undergoes language and personality development trainings, takes crash courses in sociology and philosophy, and of course, she also tries  to perfect the way she projects herself in front of the camera. She has even developed her own “walk” now popularly called as “the cobra”. Apart from these, Janine has even fulfilled commitments as product endorser and official representative of the Araneta Group. In between all these, she even manages to do television guest appearances and media visits to help her interact with different audiences and situations. Janine has definitely been one busy beauty queen.

The months of training has also pulled Janine out of her shell. Fine tuning her personality, according to her, was one of the most drastic changes she had to go through. “I used to be the silent type who wasn’t used to mingling with different sorts of people. That had to change.  I’ve learned to be a people-person and socially engage myself by becoming genuinely more interested in others,” the BS Pharmacy Cum Laude from the University of Sto. Tomas revealed.

Janine disclosed how there were lots of individuals who wanted her to change her thoughts and beliefs aside from her numbers on the weighing scale, but she says she always keeps Miss Universe 2011 3rd Runner Up Shamcey Supsup’s words in mind – to stay true to herself no matter what.

But Janine has always been a girl who would persevere once she is convinced of what she wanted. This she proved when she joined the pageant again after placing first runner during the Bb. Pilipinas 2011, despite mixed reactions and advice from friends and family. Her perseverance and gut feel paid off, “I believe this is where I’m really meant to be. God let me join the pageant once again, and he even gave me the Miss Universe-Philippines crown. This time, losing is not an option. I have to set my mind on winning,” Janine asserts. Predecessors Venus Raj who placed 4th runner up in 2010 and Shamcey Supsup, 3rd runner up last year are also convinced that Janine has got what it takes to shine at this year’s tilt.

The 61st Miss Universe Pageant will be telecast live from Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino,Las Vegas, Nevada on December 19, (December 20 Philippine Time). It will be aired on ABS-CBN. Andy Cohen and E! News co-anchor Giuliana Rancic will host the widely viewed event.

Janine leaves for the pageant on December 2. Janine is also hoping that pageant-crazy Filipinos all over the world will support her via online voting and by watching the pageant. She is enjoining all to log on to www.missuniverse.com for further information. The winner of the online voting secures a place in the semifinals. Voting started last November 15 and ends on Tuesday, December 18 at 6:00 pm. A person can vote up to 10 times per day per account or valid email address.

After a second try, several months of waiting and preparing, Janine is ready to be the Philippines’ newest global source of pride. “I will give it my all, but I can’t win the crown on my own. I need your prayers and support,” she says.

POGI POINTS by Stanley Chi Now Available at All Bookstores

Just when you think you’ve read it all, a book like Pogi Points comes your way to burst your bubble. Soldiers of love, beware.
Stanley Chi, the genius behind the bestselling Suplado Tips series (read: over PhP2M worth of books sold in just one year) goes out of his comfort zone to write a “not-so-gentleman’s guide to looking good”, as the cover of his newest book, Pogi Points, announces brazenly.
Chi is out to prove he’s not a one-hit wonder after his first humor book, Suplado Tips, underwent reprinting five times in a year. The follow-up Suplado Tips 2 fared just as well, if not better, establishing Chi’s reputation as a legit writer who can sell books to people who don’t normally love reading.
Pogi Points is a collection of tips on how to get ahead in love through strategic behavior. It teaches the naïve boy how to act around his object of admiration (or obsession, whichever applies).
Ang pagiging gwapo, inborn; ang pagiging pogi, napag-aaralan (Being handsome is inborn; being pogi is something you can learn),” Chi explains. Using humor to make his point, Chi teaches precious bits of courtship wisdom to guys who want to win over the girl of their dreams.
Readers aren’t the only ones who noticed Chi’s flair for writing. The Manila International Book Fair, the biggest book fair in the Philippines already in its 33rd year last September, made sure Chi was on board as one of their first-ever endorsers, dubbed “MIBF Bookworms”. During the book fair, Chi joined social activist Carlos Celdran and fellow comedian-authors Ramon Bautista and Tado Jimenez in an online video campaign to promote literacy.
One Pogi Points pointer says, “Kung dinaan mo sa personality ang isang babae, para mo naring sinabi na pangit ka (If you use your personality to win over a girl, it’s like saying you’re too ugly [to do it any other way])!” Aside from tips on how to score more pogi points, the book contains photo comic strips, serious relationship facts, fun pogi trivia, and self-help lists. It’s a workbook of sorts for the love-struck guy who wants to have fun while decoding the woman he fancies.
Readers get a good dose of laughter from Pogi Points – and who knows? Maybe the single guys might even get a girlfriend.
