4 Best Reasons Why I want to be a SYKESYERS

As people with different standards we often have thoughts on why a certain thing rocks or why it stands out among the rest. Yes and I do have that same standards in mind.

Just to share with you, a few years back when I was on a “job-hunt”, the BPO industry then was on its early-booming stage. I went to a call-center company which was located at Quezon City. I applied there because I passed their initial interview so the next phase was to go to their office and undergo a series of tests/exams to see if I’ll get hired as a “Customer .. . Evrything went well in the few hours as I passed their 13 kinds of exams and the simulation test. The next and determining part was their final interview. I was kind of feeling confident and positive at that time since I said to myself that I never get to decline to any job I have previously applied. At the final interview I was asked about what are my dreams and etc. I said to myself that, “Wow these are pretty simple questions”. But after a few minutes I was called back my interviewer and was told I didn’t get the job. I felt so down that time. Who wouldn’t?

After that experience I said, I will never apply again in aBPO-related company. It was a trauma for me-YES!

And just like anyone who has a bad experience, things has changed. How and when? That was until I attended the SYKES Year-End Celebration2013 Party last December 15,2013 at SMX Convention Center in SM Mall of Asia.

The party was attended by roughly 9,000 ++ employees of SYKES PHILIPPINES. I was even glad to meet the it’s very nice Vice President for Operations, Mr. Dean Van Ormer.

Mr. Dean Van Ormer said, “What I love about SYKES PHILIPPINES employees is your PASSION, You have always shown great passion in and out of work. That is why we have a great 2013”.

VP for Operations Sykes Philippines
Mr. Dean Van Ormer

I have felt the sincerity in Mr. Dean Van Omer’s words as he spoke of it. Most of the time what drives most of the employees to work hard is that knowing your company believes in what you are doing. Sometimes it’s not about how much you will be earning from your work. Money does not always play a deciding part if you are not going to work harder or not. For me it’s all about being commended for what you have always worked hard. So hearing a big boss like that of Mr. Dean Van Ormer speak of how he lauded their employees being passionate of their work is one big boost for his employees to even work harder. And that is one of the Top 4 reasons why I think Sykes Philippines is still growing in numbers in terms of manpower.

The second reason is that they continue to expand- one proof is the newly open site, SYKES Glorietta. Sykes Glorietta is the first call-center that offers highly supportive facilities from the lighting, chairs and etc, making it more conducive for their employees to work at.
The 3rd “most” rocking reason for me why SYKES Philippines is still one of the best BPO Companies here in the Philippines is the fact that raised and donated 2 Million pesos to help rebuild the affected provinces of Tacloban and Samar. It was actually a small amount compared to other donations but it still helped a lot. For a multinational company to donate and raised awareness in its employees is enough to know that they are really a company not just after the profits.
The 4th reason is that SYKES Philippines recently awarded its 200 employees for their loyalty and commitment, in which 7 of it were their employees for already 15 years. The 193 employees were on their 10th year as “SYKESYERS”.

Giniling Festival rocking the crowd with their songs

These are just of the many reasons I found why I suddenly wanted to work in a call-center again despite the “trauma” I had a few years. After all there’s no harm in trying my luck again.

The SYKES YEAR END Party 2013 was a blast. Six mainstream bands performed that night including show-opener, UP DHARMA DOWN, GINILING FESTIVAL, KAMIKAZEE, EBE DANCEl and ITCHY WORMS. The party was hosted by seasoned and dashing host Drew Arellano and model/host Kat Alano.

The party did not just stopped with its MUSIC FEST and over-flowing food and drinks, SYKES PHILIPPINES also raffled to their top referrers a MITSUBISHI MIRAGE. Earlier this year Sykes launched their Employee Referral Program where in it gave big chances in taking home a brand new car that night to one lucky referrer.

Indeed Sykes Philippines is among the BPO-related companies that we all should look out for. Their continuing passion and commendation to their employees will soon even bear more fruits by hiring more employees (and that means more working opportunities for Filipinos) and more sites to open to accommodate their ever growing number of employees.

To SYKES and SYKESYERS Congratulations to another fruitful year and more sites to open.

My "Fast and the Furious" Crush Paul Walker Dies

Indeed, the first day of December 2013 is not all that happy for the "Fast and Furious" fans out there and most especially me.

The "Fast and Furious" cast Paul Walker dies in a car crash today in California at the age of 40.

I fell in love with Paul Walker with his role as he was so dashing in the movie "The Fast and Furious". I love his role there as someone who would go along way and prove to everybody his love for his girl.

As i write this blog, I'm on verge of tears. I cannot imagine that i won't see him anymore in the future Fast and Furious movies.

It was also heart-breaking for us Filipinos because according to news he is on his way to a charity event held for the typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan victims here in the Philippines.

Paul Walker -You are forever LOVED!!!

To his family and loved ones...

He will be forever in our hearts....

For the meantime, will watch his movies and cry :(

Epic Halloween at Solaire Resorts and Casino

Last August 31, 2013, I had the most " First and Epic" Halloween party ever!!! Yes it was my first ever! And who would have thought that it would be at Solaire Resort Casino and Hotel.

I actually don't have the slightiest plan of attending one that night. while everyone was busy thinking what costume to wear, I was busy thinking if I should be busy like all the rst who are all fussing about their costumes.

But those last minute thingies changed as that afternoon, a friend told me that she was going to a Halloween party. I said why is everybody busy thinking of going to a Halloween Party. And since I missed this girl, I said why not?

I missed Phylicia, yeah her name is Phylicia and she  asked me if I can go with her at Solaire Resort Casino and Hotel for this year's Halloween Party, "The AFter Glow Halloween Party".

Solaire Resort's theme this year is the Neon Days of the 80's and 90's. And with that being said guest of this year's Halloween Party should be dressed in anything but neon.

I don't have any neon outfit but that didn't stopped me from going. All I know is that I have that "party" itch and I was so excited to celebrate Halloween with my sweetie friend Phylicia.

Lo and behold,I guess there was no need to drag myself because going to Solaire was so comfy.Comfy it is because I was so lucky there was a "free" shuttle going to Solaire located at Theater Mall Greenhills.Solaire member guests has the privilege to go to Solaire for free if they availed and registered as members of Solaire.

I came around a little after 9pm, and the party had just started, enough for me and Phylicia to find us cocktail table near the center of Eclipse Bar.

Even though we were the youngest in the crowd, we enjoyed every bit of since the band performing that night was playing cool 80's music plus we get to meet awesome peeps from Norway who has to say lots of good things about our country and our people.

And what it made doubly awesome we won "Fresh" Buffet passports good for 2 just by tweeting posting via instagram. And my pretty friend Phylicia won as best-dressed that night!

And to our surprise, seasoned Rn'B band "South Border" performed and boy did they sang my favorite song, TREASURE by Bruno Mars. This got us dance our night away.

Kudos to Solaire Casino and Hotel's events team for putting up a good show.

SCHICK winds down Suaveng Ahit, Gwapong Schick Barangay Tour

Pasig City gives premium on the cleanliness of the community and the welfare of its residents. SCHICK’s advocacy campaign, Suaveng Ahit, Gwapong Schick Barangay Tour, found this for a fact as it reached its last leg on September 30 in Barangay Kalawaan, Pasig City, which was hailed as “Pinakagwapong Barangay” together with the dance diva, Regine Tolentino.
Schick, one of the country’s most trusted brands for effective grooming, started this advocacy barangay tour in December 2012. It aims to promote proper personal grooming and also cleanliness in the community, for the ‘Gwapong Mamamayan’ which is about personal grooming, Schick provided free haircut and shaving services to the residents of the areas we visited. Thousands of samples of Schick Exacta2 Disposables were given away.  For Gwapong Syudad, we have worked with the Barangay of the community and promoted maintaining cleanliness of the surroundings.   The barangay caravan got under way first to Salamalabanan Subdivision in Imus Cavite, then of Antipolo, Muntinlupa, Novaliches, Caloocan, and Pasig City. The caravan held several activities such as three-on-three basketball game, a free-throw and half-court shootout, and a dance showdown that promoted sportsmanship among the participants.

Barangay Kalawaan, Pasig City, was awarded the best-looking barangay because of its liveliness despite its dense population. Its busy streets proved that the barangay was a winner, together with its officials who helped achieve peace and order as well as healthy lifestyle.
“Unang-una nagpapasalamat po ako sa programang SCHICK dahil kami ang napilibilang Pinaka-gwapong Barangay,” said Barangay Kalawaan Captain Jaime “Jimmy” Lee. “Maraming tao ang natulungan at nakinabang dito sa aming barangay lalo na ang SAKTODA, added Lee.
Schick has always believed that being well groomed boosts not just physical but also mental wellness, and hence makes for a more confident community.
“We plan to do this event through our distributors across Philippines and have their own mini barangay tour of the Suaveng Ahit, Gwapong Schick,” said stated SCHICK Marketing Manager Cara Ramirez-Tecson. “We believe in its advocacy of promoting proper personal grooming while ensuring that we keep the community in mind as well when it comes to wellness and cleanliness. This activity also enables us to improve our distribution in areas we have opportunities since it includes merchandising blitz and sari-sari promotions that help our brand, Schick be more accessible to our consumers.

IVI COLLAGEN NIGHT CREAM: My New "Overnight" Regimen to Battle Off Skin Aging

I have been out too much lately. Having said that I work in the "events" industry made me stay out late most of the time. And I know that it's not just my "physical" body which is at stake here. My skin as well.

Of course when the skin does not also get the much needed rest that it needs. But sometimes rest is not enough so tried to use a night cream to see if it helps.

This night cream is IVI PREMIUM COLLAGEN ANTI-AGING NIGHT CREAM. This is my first time to use a night cream. I've read before that Romans were even known to put Olive Oil on their skin to retain the skin's moisture.

IVI PREMIUM COLLAGEN NIGHT CREAM
PHP 1,250

How do we differentiate a night cream from a day cream?

Aside from the fact that "night" creams are used during the night, night creams used to be heavy and "pasty" when applied on the face. But now the good thing is night creams now are not like that anymore. And I can attest to that when I tried IVI PREMIUM COLLAGEN ANTI-AGING NIGHT CREAM.
'
IVI PREMIUM COLLAGEN NIGHT CREAM

It felt non-greasy when I applied to my face. It has a nice smell that will make you smell it more. A few dabs of it is already okay.

This one comes in 30grams and costs Php 1,250 (srp). Not bad for a night cream because most night creams I know in the market these days also costs around that much. More or less, it will last for a month and half. I know most of us "busy" and working moms don't have that "regular" regimen. But I realized as we approach aging, we really have to take precautions to delay skin aging (if not stop us from aging).

Here are some things you need to know about this revolutionary anti-aging product from Japan.

IVI COLLAGEN PREMIUM NIGHT CREAM is

  • Designed to moisturize & repair your skin while you sleep.
  • A Collagen infused night cream that is rich in anti-oxidants. It will smoothen the skin, reduce fine lines & wrinkles to give you a soft and youthful complexion.
  • Hydrolyzed Marine Collagen mixed with exotic Japanese ingredients formulated to give you smoother & younger-looking skin.
  • Egg shell membrane, which is a good source of collagen as well, helps repair damage skin cells when applied.
  • The night cream is also infused with Licorice Root Extract that reduces hyper-pigmentation by blocking tyrosinase, a skin enzyme responsible for the pigmentation process.
  • Reduced hyper-pigmentation soothe, clarify and brighten skin.
I've posted some photos of how I apply IVI COLLAGEN PREMIUM NIGHT CREAM every night:

First, it's much better if you cleanse it first with a toner. Aside from toning the skin, the toners also cleanses the clogged pores of your face.

After Cleansing the face, Dab the IVI COLLAGEN PREMIUM NIGHT CREAM all over your face. Make sure that you evenly applied it allover the face and neck.

Then after dabbing it on your face, spread it evenly in an upward manner, so that the skin of your face will not sag. After that, the face is ready for a night of rest.

The face will be moisturized even while your sleeping. No worries because it stain your pillows or bed sheets. Just make sure that it already absorbed by the skin.

I took this picture just this morning with no make-up so guys will get to see the difference. I slept late pa nyan ah:) lol . If you will notice it made the face more supple and radiant.

I was happy with results, at 32 ( yes I'm already 32 y/o), taking care of my skin is just "easy-peasy" with IVI RYO Products most especially with the new IVI COLLAGEN PREMIUM NIGHT CREAM.

There is a good reason why there is a steadily growing number of Filipinos that yearly visit Malaysia. One of these is the careful way Tourism Malaysia endeavors to offer the best tour packages to its local travel agents and partners.

In the beautiful tradition of Tourism Malaysia’s colorful promotional campaign, the Visit Malaysia 2014 launch at the Solaire Resorts Manila on 03 October 2013 was every bit truly Malaysian – vibrant, exciting, and fascinating!

KYTHE Foundation is a non-profit, non-stock organization aimed to inspire hope for the hospitalized children with cancer and chronic illness. As KYTHE (means “to make visible”) is already 20 years in service, they continue to help these children in achieving quality life through their KYTHE Childe Life Program. They are the only foundation in the country that offers such service through the help of group of trained professionals.
On the other hand, CENTEX (Center of Excellence in Public Elementary Education) is a public school since 1998 operated by Memorandum Agreement between the Department of Education and Ayala Foundation which caters bright children from economically disadvantaged families who needs quality education and ample support for their brighter future.
CENTEX operates two public schools in Tondo Manila and Bauan Batangas wherein they served as a learning environment for the children to secure a better opportunity ahead.
With this, Helathway Medical pushes this exciting dance competition not just only to celebrate but also in lending some kindness to those blessed children.
So, let’s dance for happiness. Let’s dance for a cause. Let’s dance for a healthier life with HEALTHWAY MEDICAL!

Movie ALert: THOR The Dark World on Oct. 30, 2013

Lately I've been swamped with a lot of things in mind. Work, Family and etc. That I don't have time anymore to bond with my kids. Lately my kids have been telling me that they wanted to watch the upcoming Marvel movie "Thor: The Dark World. Yes been hearing this movie from their mouths for almost a month and they can't wait to troop to the nearest movie house.

And just like any doting mom, I'll give in to their whims but I told them to promise that they'll have good grades this 2nd quarter or else , no movie!!! So that was what we agreed upon.

And because this is quite awesome for the family, I'm planning to watch it somewhere they have never been to. And what great timing it is, PMCM EVENTS MANAGEMENT is having a Special Block Screening of THOR:The DARK WORLD this coming Oct 30, 2013 at SHANGRI-LA MALL Edsa Plaza 9pm.

I have personally watched a movie here at Shangri-La Mall Cinema, and I find it very comfy and spacious here to watch. It is a nice movie house where one can sit back, relax and watch a movie.

I chose to watch it through PMCM EVENTS MANAGEMENT Special Block Screening because I get to reserve our seats by just texting the contact person and I'm guaranteed of our seats. This means that no more hassle in lining up to get our tickets and going early to watch.

And from the feedback of the previous satisfied moviegoers, with the price of Php550 per ticket, you get a drink and popcorn and lots of freebies + raffle prizes from its generous sponsors. So that was so worth my money : Reserve seating, free drink and popcorn plus freebies!!!!

So who else is going, might as well reserve your tickets via the contact number printed on the poster above so you'll have the chance to get your choice of seats.

"Bet On Your Baby Philippines" is the Newest Kapamilya Show That Advocates Strong Connections Between Babies and their Families

In a family treat that with a message that is very much close to her heart, acclaimed television personality and hands-on mother Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo stands proud to share both education and enjoyment as host of the Philippines’ newest game show “Bet On Your Baby”.
Seeing it fit for how she is and who she is, Judy Ann has been especially excited venturing into this new project, which is designed for families with children aged two to three and a half years old. Through a series of games, it aims to prove the importance of having a strong bond between parents and their kids.
“When the show was presented to me, and when I got the whole feel of ‘Bet On Your Baby’, I was so entertained by seeing how they kids were really just playing,” said Judy Ann, who found a great sense of enjoyment from her first taping sessions. Aside from that, the show’s games are designed in ways that allow for the children to learn while playing, making her even more eager to take on being the show’s host.
Being an advocate of creating strong connections with her children, she finds a certain thrill in discovering what they’re capable of on a daily basis, which she also sees in what her guests bring to the floor. According to Judy Ann, “There’s a point of conversation with you and the parents that join the show. We can relate to each other.”
Judy Ann also immediately took a liking to the kids that she has met through the show so far. “It’s easy to love the program because you’re dealing with babies, and you can’t go wrong with that,” she said.
This connection that she formed with the families that she has met on the show so far is one that she hopes will branch out to inspire other Filipino families, especially with the show presenting techniques that parents and children can take into their own homes.
“I’m just hopeful that we can inspire people to enjoy having their kids around. ‘Bet On Your Baby’ is here to help parents enjoy their kids more. Besides, being a parent, I learned that when it comes to your children, you don’t want to miss any moment. It’s important to be beside them in whatever they go through. I think when you come to that point, it’s true that you become selfless. It’s true that you smile without reason. All of a sudden, there’s so much more value in your being alive.”
“Bet On Your Baby”, hosted by Judy Ann Santos, is set to hit Philippine television this October. For updates on the program, visit and like “Bet On Your Baby” on Facebook (www.facebook.com/betonyourbabyph) and follow @betonyourbabyph on Twitter or betonyourbabyphilippines on Instagram.

My Nails Got "Spiced" at Spice Body Spa and Salon

I was feeling sick that day. I don't know if it was just about the weather or it was just me. Maybe it was me .I feel like I need somebody to brighten my day. But I guess that somebody "special" was nowhere but across the globe. what can I do but do something before the blues get a "whack" at me.

So instead of bumming and feelin' somewhat lonely, I decide to check a new a body spa and a nail salon that a friend suggested that I check out.

After a very tiring and stressful day at the office, my feet dragged me to the outskirts of Tomas Morato and check out this newly-opened body Spa and salon combined.

Make way for the newest "pampering" haven there is in Tomas Morato---- SPICE BODY SPA and SALON. It is located at M3 Mezzanine Floor, FSS Bldg. II, 18 Scout Tuason cor, Scout Castor, Barangay Laging Handa, 1103 Quezon City.

Spice Body Spa and Salon is your "one-stop" establishment which offers a wide array of services from Hair care needs like Extenso, Rebonding, Traditional/Digital Perm, Hair Treatments (for Dry Hair, Damage Hair, Dandruff, Oily Scalp and even Hair-Loss), Hair and Make-up and even special home services like Bridal Make-up and Up-Styling. Aside from salon services, they also cater to those people who love to pamper their body.

I'm sure you will love their "pampering" services like: Massages, Body Scrub, foot Care (Foot Scrub, Foot Mask and Foot Massages), Waxing and Paraffin treatments.

I'm sure you all are curious what serviced I availed when I visited this new salon. Since I just got my hair color that time, as much as I wanted to a have new color again lol, I chose to have my nails done, since this is the most "deprived" part of my body most of the time.

I don't have the nicest pair of feet and hands, but I believe despite it being not "pleasing" to the eyes, I still have to make sure that I still take care of it and make sure that it is taken cared of and pampering that it truly deserved.

Meet Mona, my nail technician that night. I really liked her because she made sure that whole process is "ouch-free". As we all know, most of the time, most clients like us we barely entrust our nail "in-grown" - the dead skin in our hands and feet, to someone new and "inexperienced" because we dread it being "murdered".

But to my surprise, Mona made sure that she got the dead skin and I can't recall if there was a moment when I said "ouch". To think that I had this very thick "dead" skin in my toe nails. She was simply amazing. To all of my friends who'w contented with their nail technicians even if it means having all the blood of at your sight, I really recommend that you check her out and experience an "ouch"-less mani-pedi.

I'm not used to choosing "pink" nail color but since I'm living it all out now-I chose "Purple Panic  from China Glaze nail color collection and "Quirky Smile" of Misa Nail Polish. Now that sounds interesting for nail clor name:)

So loved the color, it was very eye-catching. Loved how nice the color "pink" looked so "pop" on me.

Aside from the massage and hand and foot services that they offer, Spice Body Spa and Salon also offers a very wide and extensive number of Hair and Salon needs that will surely cater to any client or customer.

SPICE BODY SPA AND SALON uses only the trusted and very competitive brands in demand in the Salon business like L'Oreal and Framesi , all of which are known for its expertise in both hair and coloring trends.

They all use these brands because they wanted to make sure that all clients are assured of quality and safety. They value every clients needs that's why, for Spice and Body Spa and Salon, the clients are on top mind.
