AJKA
The band AJKA recently launched their debut EP entitled : "UNDEFINED" at CLUB PHI in MetroWalk last April 28, 2011 (pardon the late post please) which was presented by Sony Music in cooperation with NESCAFE and G.A. Yupangco & Co. Inc.
Th band is composed of K.A. Antonio (vocals), JL delas Llagas ( guitar ), Aaron Caligner (bass),and Jon Pinto (drums). the band's name came from their first name's first letter initials. AJKA describes their music as "pop with a hint of jazz , punk, and soul".
this band met in DLSU Official DLSU-POPS Orchestra now known as SURRELLI POPS ORCHESTRA.
Like many other bands, they also started joining several battle of the bands w/c led them to joining Nescafe 3-in-1 SOUNDSKOOL Competition for college bands which also produced bands such as HILERA, LETTER DAY STORY and EEVEE.
The band was among the 5 finalists in the competition and emerged as champions via text votes.
After Listening to to these band i really enjoyed listening to them especially with their songs like " Tanong Lang", and that same song won them as the grand champion for 2010 Nescafe 3-in-1 Soundskool.
I included this video so you may hear how powerful and soothing this
lady-vocalist can belt high notes on their songs.
I also like K.A Antonio's way of belting high notes in a jazzy-kind-of way. Their album is consists of five original songs namely:
- Ako Naman
- In Denial
- Tanong lang
- Down
- Endless
I could just feel the vocalist's message across her songs. And how nice it is to know that all the songs in this album are "all-originals". Aside from the band's ingenuity ,they also has the talent for creating new and original songs. I can guarantee you that once you guys buy their album that its all worth it.
