BayView Park Hotel Manila: Celebrating Filipino Food fare through Kulinarya Kalayaan Food Festival !

Hi ! Yes I know!, how could I not resist eating when I 'm gaining weight lately? I believe that you only live ONCE therefore live as if there's no tomorrow.

Yesterday, I was invited by BayView Park Hotel for lunch. I'm so flattered that I didn't mind going the extra mile to travel all the way from Quezon City to Roxas Blvd.

BayView Park Hotel being established for almost 75years and they are one of the longest-enduring, sought after destinations for both business and leisure travelers in Manila. BayView Park Hotel is freshly renovated , "personalized", boutique hotel.

BayView Park Hotel Manila has 283 Rooms (5 executive Suites, 30 Deluxe Rooms, and 243 Superior Rooms). You can also have access to their amenities (Pool Deck swimming Pool, Modern Gym Fitness, Internet Cafe).

They invited us to have a taste of their very own version "Filipino" food version. It is dubbed as "Kulinarya Kalayaan Food Festival" It is a month -long food event that started from May 28, 2012 and culminate on June 31, 2012. The festivities will showcase Philippine Food, Arts and Crafts at the Lobby Coffee Shop of  BayView Hotel.

For this food festival they will be featuring our very delectable Filipino Cuisine.

The Buffet area was adorned with these "bilaos" to give that Filipiniana feel. The decorations helped alot in giving that festive vibe.

The buffet that day consists of Kare-Kare, Stuffed Pusit, Pancit Canton, Ginataan Kalabasa at Sitaw.

Wait there's more, a buffet is never complete without an array of our favorite Filipino desserts.

The dessert Buffet

Vegetable Lumpia

Who could resist their Halo-Halo when you you can make your own version and topped it with generous amounts of Ube or Leche Flan.

The desert bar of the buffet was my favorite.Ii'm known to be a "dessert" person. I couldn't help but give-out a big sigh when I saw the Sapin-Sapin! I missed these desserts. I remember I used to wait in the afternoon juts right at our porch just to wait for the lady that sells it every afternoon.

The Kulinarya Kalayaan Food Festival is also participated by the Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Philippines.

The Buffet is open from Monday-Friday (11am-2pm) and priced at Php450/person. Juts a tip, when you visit BayView Park Hotel Manila, travel a bit early you won't be a hassle when looking for a seat at their Buffet Lounge. buffet price is affordable especially for those who want to treat their family, or even business partners( meetings).

The food festival was a success that it's full during lunchtime!

The Kulinarya Kalayaan Food Festival will have different food menu every week so be sure to visit BayView Park Hotel every week to get a taste of the different Filipino Food Fare!

Food trips are better if you are with friends! There'll be more people to remind you to eat less, lol!

The "IT" Finds: Where Forever Starts, Tutuban Centermall Your Smart Wedding Essentials Depot

Church doors open, all eyes fixed on the bridal procession, waiting for the much anticipated moment where the bride will walk down the aisle to Mendelssohn’s tune or perhaps Canon in D by Pachalbel. The groom’s heart pounds faster and faster, getting more nervous with every beat as the bride inches her way to the altar, but the promise of love takes all anxiety away to where forever starts.

Weddings are one of the most challenging events to prepare for a couple as it involves not only themselves but also their families and friends who are witnesses to their union.  Even the simplest wedding ceremony takes months and some more than a year to prepare everything, from minute things like invitations, giveaways, flowers, arrhae, veil, cord, specially the rings, to the bigger ones like the guest list, the church, reception venue and food, and of course the gowns and suits.

The month of June, often tagged “The Wedding Month,” is here again. It’s the month where you see couples who will exchange marital vows take on everything that needs to be prepared before they engage in marital bliss. Aside from emotional preparedness, the couple should also be ready for their look.

For impressive ideas regarding their wedding outfit, Tutuban Center, the shopping haven for bargain hunters located at the heart of Manila, recently held “The Wedding Anthology: Formal, Wedding and Evening Wear,” a fashion show that featured Tutuban’s tenants specializing in formal wear for both men and women.

The show kicked off with an array of suits for men for any formal occasion, followed by the ladies’ sophisticatedly designed evening dresses that left most of the audience in awe. The next set featured the most anticipated wedding attires, with men in dashing form wearing classic barong, while the women looked extremely elegant in their gowns studded with elaborate decorations.

The show was of tremendous benefit for those scouting for the next glossy and trendy look when it comes to formal wear—wedding or not—and the array of remarkable clothes presented during the show made couple’s eyes’ a-glitter with excitement, their hearts a-fluttering as they visualize how they would both look like the moment they are in church in front of the eyes of their families, relatives and friends.

Weddings have always been one of the most anticipated and extraordinary events in anyone’s life, a great moment of celebration for the couple and their loved one.. But more than all the preparations to make a wedding day beautiful and memorable, more than how the wedding should look, what really matters is how the couple would handle the following days of their married life—together, and more importantly, forever.

Tutuban Center is located along historic C.M. Recto Avenue right at the heart of Manila’s shopping district.

Go "BAG-To-School" in STYLE with BUM EQUIPMENT

When I was in college, back-packs where the “in-thing” when it comes to bags. Why? Of course This is the kind of bag wherein you could put all books or stuff for school, may it be bulky or not. But during those times, I do not just buy the “usual” back-packs. I usually choose back-packs with catchy prints and stylish at the same. It is a bore with me when the color’s a bore.

So now that I have two boys who are in their grade school, I try not to be spoiler. Of course I like them to have bags that are hip and cool!

BUM EQUIPMENT comes up with stylish yet functional bags that carry the brand’s style philosophy: the Modern Goth Look with a touch of Glam Rock (think studded pieces, motorcycle jackets, tapered pants, oversized shirts, and the like).

BUM EQUIPMENT has improved most especially with the styles that they have. I have checked their stores and I must say “Good for them” (I’m referring to the youth) because New style, color combinations and etc.

If you have a kid for a daughter/son or niece/nephew or someone that you knew who loves to be that simple yet rock and Goth fashion, I suggest that you check the BUM EQUIPMENT stores near you.

For the girls they have pieces that can be mixed and matched with their favorite tops and bottoms, will be delighted to know that BUM has whipped up something new for them, as well. BUM introduces the rayon fabric for girls and exciting new designs such as 2-in-1 tops, casual blazers, and blouses with built-in mini designed to look like tunics.

Skinny jeans and jeggings have also found their way into BUM’s new collection. Stylish yet comfortable, these pants can flatter any shape and can be worn with a baggy top, a comfy cardigan, or a fitted jacket to create proportion. Girls with short legs can pair these with heels (stilettos or knee-high boots), while long-legged girls can opt for comfy flats.

And for boys who loves what Dino or Daniel Padilla wear nowadays, turning motorcycle jackets into cropped ones, and with notched collar jackets for boys. They can also go for the “casual cool” look with chino cuffed pants that allow them to swing from schoolwork to play without breaking a sweat.

But they have a new promo that BUM EQUIPMENT Fans can benefit from! For every Php500 Single receipt purchase, Get 1 sticker at any BUM Boutique and participating Dept. stores nationwide. Collect all 5 stickers and get the LIMITED EDITION HOODIE Bag for FREE! Promo is already running which started last May 1, 2012 to June 30, 2012.

I already got mine! But will constantly remind my brother to buy clothes again from BUM EQUIPMENT so that when he collects all 5 stickers, I’ll be able to have another Hoodie Bag! Sounds selfish right?!?

The Hoodie Bag is stylish enough for me to constantly remind him to buy shirts at BUM EQUIPMENT.

Made of printed canvas mixed with poly-fine fiber, the BUM Reversible Bag is designed with eye-catching patterns and minimal accent details. Since both sides (inner and outer) have designs, it’s like having two bags in one!

Going back to school has never been this cool and fashionable.

BUM is available in leading department stores nationwide. For more information, visit or like them on Facebook at

Sports: The Search for Teen Azkals is on!

In the recent years, the sports scene in the Philippines has been soaring higher. Just like boxing, if not for Manny Pacquiao’s harnessed prowess in the sport and the support that it got from Filipino fans, the Philippines will not be known for its “world-class “ talent.

However there’s another sport worthy of every Filipino’s support.  Aside from the Azkals successive feat; another “soon-to-be” Filipino pride is on the brew. The Men’s National  team through the good and efficient leadership of Dan Palami, guidance, renowned coaching of Michael Weiss, and most especially the advocacy  and faith to the whole group of Team Manager ALVIN CARANZA the players(U17-19) that they had scouted all over the archipelago manifests the formula for us to move further and be notice for the Filipinos’ ingenuity.

Coach Aris Caslib (Technical Director for PFF).

But how does it sustain its success? Of course, with lots of Responsibility, Hard work, Practice and Tasks.
By the way let me just reiterate that I’m no expert in Football, so to enlighten everyone who reads this, below are what  should be enlisted to as to sustain the Sport.

A.)In the grass roots level, quality grassroots experts are needed in all 33 provincial football association to ensure the football activities are continuous with combinations of training, mind setting, practice competitions and festivals for the kids.

Grassroots experts must be trained by experts not only from our country but AFC (Asian Football Confederation) and FIFA.

B.)Coaches development must be sustained.
Last year, the first batch of Filipinos took the AFC A License level and resulted to 7 potential new A licensed coaches in the country.

According to Atty. Rolando Tulay, General Secretary-PFF, continuing education is needed for coaches as quality coaches produces quality players and quality players will give honor for the Philippines.

C.)Competitions from club level to age group competitions are needed, both for girls and boys and men’s and women’s team.

These activities will help cite and identify talent for future national youth teams. “National team development in any country is always based on the strength of grassroots and national youth teams “, TM ALVIN CARRANZA U17-19 said.

As a mom of two very active boys, I have been observing what sport they want to excel with. For one they like everything that has to do with balls. And one of the sports involving balls that they like is Football. I am on the stage where in I’m seeking the advice of these Football gurus like Coach Aris Caslib .
I met coach Aris during the presscon for Teen Azkals. Let’s face it , enrolling your kids in a Football training school can be expensive, not to mention the gear  one must use when playing. With the Azkals as the leading motivation for every Filipino Football aspirant, I know every aspiring Football will be dreaming for himself and the country, to play and be the Pride of his country.

By the way for anyone who aspires to be part of the most anticipated football team, the TEEN AZKALS, the schedules will be as follows:

NCR Selection
July 7 & 8, 2012 University of the Philippines in Diliman Quezon City

National Selection
August 4-12, 2012 San Carlos City, Negros Occidental Football Grounds
