Are you and your family into sports? Does your family have a
certain sport that all of you liked doing together? If yes, then you guys are
lucky because that sport bonds you together. One of the sport that you and your
family will truly enjoy is Ice Skating.
Ice Skating is a sport where you skating not on land but in
breezing cold ice. Unfortunately our country is in the tropical zone, meaning
we don’t “physically” don’t have ice. Being on that tropical zone is not a
problem because SM Supermalls gets to solve that for us. SM Supermalls like SM
MALL of Asia has SM Ice Skating. People of all ages get to enjoy Ice Skating
basically by visiting SM Ice Skating.
Just last Saturday, September 15, 2012, SM Ice Skating
celebrated their 20th year of bringing kids, teens and even families
together and enjoy the wonderful sport of Ice Skating.
Not only the families who benefits but also the aspiring Ice
Skater enthusiasts, who gets to practice awesome spins, jumps, foot-works and
ice exhibitions, to become highly competitive athletes more than capable to
compete around the globe.
Last Saturday, I am not merely a spectator to this awesome
sport. I also become a fan. Who wouldn’t, most specially if you their families
root for them as different skaters from the different SM Ice Skating branches
come together to perform and showcase their talent in Ice Skating.
Here are some of the photos I would like to share during the
20th Anniversary celebration of SM Ice Skating held at SM Mall of
Asia Ice Skating Rink.
Photos…
Students and coaches from 1992-2012.
The celebration was well-attended by notable people known in
the world of Ice Skating scene in the Philippines like Philippine Olympic
Committee President, Mr. Jose “Peping” Cojuanco Jr. were also there to show his
support.
I couldn’t skate even on rollerblades so I was also amazed
seeing even a “mom and daughter” tandem perform. But one performance that
really got me hooked was a performance by a former 2-time ice skater/awardee
whose name I unfortunately didn’t get to write down. Even now that he is
already grown up to be a young lad, he still has the moves and I couldn’t
forget to see the passion in his eyes as he performs.
This momentous event will not be possible without the
astounding support of Nissan, Uncle Cheffy/Larry and Mau/PizzaHut (who provided
the food for the celebration), Coca-Cola, Mogu-Mogu (whom I fell in love with
my first of it), Union, Ace Water Spa, Blink Photobooth, Wine Depot, Banana
Peel, Converse and Manila Catering.
So if you guys want an exhilarating “cold” and fun sport,
try your luck and visit the SM Ice Skating branches like SM SouthMall and the first olympic-sized Ice Skating rink in the Philippines SM Mall of Asia.
